Who I am.

I am me. I know it sounds cliche but it kind of sums up who I am. There are so many things about who I am, some of them I have yet to figure out. But so far I know that I am a girl who can be extremely shy when meeting new people, who is hard-working but can be a bit lazy sometimes, who loves to read, and who always tries to do her best. On my first day at Baruch I was worried about making friends. I came here without any of my friends from my old school, so I knew it would be hard for me to make friends since I’m shy and can be extremely awkward and nervous. Some other concerns are the typical ones like how I will do in my classes and worrying about passing all of my classes and being able to finish all of my work on time. I know these next four years would be completely different because it’s a whole different setting and routine. College is so much different from high school. Not only the schedule is different but the interactions with the teachers are different. In high school I knew that my teacher knew my name but now I’m hoping that they know my name. I have to stop being so shy and start participating. I’m not sure how I’ll change after my first year of college, but I know I will because this is a new chapter with different places to go and people to see. Hopefully it’s good changes. I know I will learn a lot of new things this year.

Its good to know you are you! In the words of Kevin Hart “Do you boo boo.” That was my attempt at being comical I hope I didn’t fail. You posses the qualities to be a good college student such as working hard, loving to read, and trying your best. Its ok to be awkward and nervous, I am awkward most of the time its how I roll. The interactions with teachers changes they are now called professors and they tend to care a little less. A good way to get yourself known to your professor with having to participate as much in class is to go to them during office hours, the count that as participation and there is a better chance they get to know you. I am pretty sure the changes you will face in college will be good changes that will help you grow as a person.
