Voices was very interesting and more personal this time than the first voices I went to. Probably more personal this time because I knew some of the people that wrote the monologues. Kind of makes me wish I spent time on my monologue so it could be read. Nevertheless the actors performed very well in acting out the raw emotions written in the writing. Literally some of the monologues were so touching and sad. It was bittersweet hearing my peers sad stories but it was good that they let it out and let it read out loud in a crowd of hundreds.

I enjoyed Voices III because it was a novel experience in a new environment surrounded by people I never met before. However, for Voices IV, the novelty quickly wore off. My peers say it was even better than the original, but for me, it got old quickly. I felt the juxtaposition of various tones (e.g. humor, etc) weakened their effects. Aesthetics aside, I liked learning more about my classmates. I felt this event contributed to the spirit of FRO and helping us assimilate into the school.

I enjoyed voiced four significantly more than i enjoyed voices 3. I felt that the actors and monologues in voices 4 were substantially better than the performance put on in voices 3. Overall voices 4 provides the audience with an emotional roller coaster effect. Whether your laughing or crying it drags the audience’s attention in , and really makes them think. I was impressed with this performance and even though I probably would not have gone if it wasn’t mandatory, Im glad I did.

There are certain specific events I remember about our trip to the Rubin Museum. I remember being skeptical about leaving my schoolbag holding about $2,000 of technology in the main lobby. So i took out my ipad and walked around the museum with it. After i got over that , I really enjoyed some of the art on display at the museum. One specific area of the museum that stood out to me was the shrine with all of the antique furniture and statues. It was a really nice shrine and the music and gongs playing in the background made it kind of a relaxing experience. I can see why people go there to pray. I was really impressed with how crisp and clean the museum was. I would definitely recommend the museum to anyone who is interested in that particular style of art.

A time to serve is an article with information about the United States and how government spending is affecting American citizens. The government is spending a large some of money on wars while forgetting about many homeless and people living in poverty. The current economic situation that america is in, facing another recession, has left many people out to dry. The job market is tougher than ever, and many people are left unemployed. I disagree with many of the proposals put forward by government in order to help secure the economy and create jobs for struggling Americans.

This was a mandatory workshop that we had to attend. I remember I had a huge psychology test that day and I just wanted to go to the library and study, but I had to sit through that painful lecture about saving money. That lecture was basically all common sense and unfortunately I felt that I had wasted my time. Sorry to be so blunt about it, but Im not one to sugar coat things and make them seem what they are not. I recommend that Baruch makes that lecture optional from now on because personally I did not benefit from sitting through that lecture.

I did not attend light the night but I volunteer my time at a nursing home sometimes. At the nursing time I intrigue myself with several senior citizens: reading the paper, playing games and interacting with them. It has proven to be an incredible experience both for me and them.

Voices four had its ups and downs. Some of the monologues were heart felt and others were enjoyable. Some were just very boring and didn’t belong. In my opinion the monologues that were read during the convocation ceremony were superior to those read a voices four. However, I did enjoy attending voices four. Though I did not know which freshman wrote which piece I learned that a several of them were exceptional writers.

Ahh the museum, I remember that experience so fondly. I came in late, So by the time I got to the class room it was empty.. So I went to one of the computers to find out where this museum was.. Fast forward a few minutes and I’m walking somewhere between five and ten blocks to find the Museum. So half way there and I forget the address, that doesn’t stop me. I keep walking and luckily I see another group from our school.. I jump on the back of their line and eventually reach the museum. I get in there, recieved my sticker and begin to search the whole museum for the rest of us.. After examining every floor I see that somehow I must have walked past them and not noticed so I stood around for awhile taking pictures of some of the pieces..Fast forward to everyone ariving and the short tour and we are done..I have to say the most interesting thing there second to the whole santuary thing was the old school piggy ba

Well full circle came around and we got (forced) to sit and watch voices for, and I have to agree with what the speaker said before hand. Voices four was all round a better group of monologues than the set for voices three.. Almost every pieces was really a deep dig into who somebody was or what made them who they are now. But somehow it just felt like voices three was a better experience.. I don’t know. Maybe I just don’t like deepness or intense stories and the such.. Well, maybe most others liked it and I guess that’s a shining star for us freshman.
