a. Tell us how your experience at Baruch College has lived up to your expectations? Not lived up to your expectations? Exceeded your expectations?

-My experience at Baruch College has lived up to my expectations because I have the freedom that I always believed would come with college. It has not lived up to my expectations because some of my teachers aren’t as informative as I thought they would be.

b. How well do you think your first semester at Baruch College went?

-I think my first semester went pretty well. I got good grades, and kept up with most of my classes.

c. What would you do differently during your first semester if you could do it all again?

-I would miss less class, and do my work ahead of time instead of at the last minute.

d. How have you changed since you started at Baruch College?

-I have become more independent and responsible since I started at Baruch.

One of the things I like best about myself is that I am understanding towards other people. I am independent. I think I am openminded because I like to hear others opinions and consider every point of view. I am a student, a worker, a child, and a friend. The things I like least about myself are my indecisiveness and shyness. I would like to be more firm and confident in myself when interacting with others. I believe that if you want change you have to physically do something about  it rather than just talk about it, and thats the only way change will happen. The most important things to me are my family, myself, my friends, my dogs, my grades, money, and my future. A moment I felt guilty was when I lied about where I was and who I was with and I got caught. I felt empowered when I did a job interview and found out I got the job. My biggest challenge at Baruch is using my time effectively and organizing myself. I am enjoying the freedom and independence of college. It is much different than the all girls Catholic high school that I went to. In the future I hope to be a more successful and well rounded individual.

First Post

A. I think I am a nice and thoughtful person.

B. My top three concerns about my freshman year at Baruch are 1) managing my time effectively, 2) making my own schedule second semester, and 3) getting good grades. Managing my time is one of my concerns because I tend to wait until the last minute to do things. I’m worried about making my own schedule for second semester because I don’t know how it works. I’m worried about getting good grades because the grading system is a lot different then it was in my high school.

C. My Baruch college experience is a lot different than my high school experience because I went to a Catholic all girls school. So the curriculum is very different here and its much more diverse. Also, my high school was very close to my house and now I commute over an hour each way.

D. I think my first year at college will make me more organized, independent, and hardworking.
