Post Two

Hey everyone, my name is Alex. I’m a 17 year old teenager born and raised in New York City; originally from the Lower East Side until I moved to Brooklyn in 2008. I’m a guy trying to make something of myself and I’m working as hard as I can in Baruch to get there. I’m a passionate lover of music and film, especially the classics. I love to swim and I’ve been on my high school’s varsity team for two years. And all in all, I look forward to getting to know all of you a lot better!
For the past couple of weeks in Baruch, I’ve had three major concerns. Firstly, I’m worried about my time management skills and whether or not they will be able to keep up with the work. But so far, my skills from high school seem to be adequate so I hope I will adapt even further. Furthermore, I’m also a bit concerned about competing for jobs and internships, because so far the competition looks pretty tough. And finally I’m worried about what will come in the near future and how things will fall into place. I’m hoping for the best, and I’m definitely also working for the best.
Baruch College has already been a drastic change for me. Going to school with people around the world instead of the Manhattan is one big difference. Having shorter classes also allows me the time to focus not only on school but on my jobs and my future as well. I think college has already begun to make me work harder than high school, and it definitely will shape who I will be for the rest of my life, so I will definitely embrace my four years here forever.
