My name is Joseph, and I hope to learn as much as I can in my few years at Baruch college. My top three concerns with my freshman year at Baruch college are that I will need to find a use for all my free time, keep a schedule and be prepared for any changes, and that I will have to purchase all of my books instead of borrowing them from the school.

The clearest distinction between college and high school is that my peers do not mostly take the same classes as me, and that, eventually, I will have complete control, and therefore responsibility, over my schedule. My first year of college should prepare me for my responsibilities out of school, if only slightly more than high school.

Welcome LC06!

Hey LC 6,

My name is Ari Kandov and I will be your Executive Peer Mentor for freshman seminar this semester. I would like to congratulate you on getting into Baruch College. This is really an awesome college and I know that all of you will have an amazing experience here.

As you peer mentor, I am here to help with your transition into Baruch and into college life in general. I know that it can be a huge change from high school, but definitely something all of you can handle. I look forward to having a great semester with all of you and just remember that you can reach out to me whenever you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Ariel ‘Ari’ Kandov
