Hi. This is Late, but this is me.

I know I’m writing this months after everyone else did, but better late than never right?

My name is Michelle Powerman and I was born and raised in Staten Island, New York. My mother is from Ukraine and my father is from Russia (both countries are now considered one), so that would make me Russian American. I speak Russian, but unfortunately not as fluently as I did when I was younger. I have an older sister named Susan who actually attended and graduated from Baruch College. She’s the main reason I decided on going here. She seemed to have a really great experience here at Baruch and that’s definitely what I wanted for myself as well. I speak fluently in sarcasm. 90% of everything I say is usually a joke and I love people with a sense of humor cause they understand my sarcasm. I love laughing and I love making other people laugh as well. A past time of mine is singing. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. I record in my spare time (my YouTube channel is www.youtube.com/MichellePowerman if anyone wants to check it out) and it really serves as a stress-reliever. I don’t plan to make a career out of singing, so I’ll just leave it as a hobby for now.

So far, I love Baruch. I can’t put my finger on it but something about the energy of the school makes me not mind being here early just to chill out before class. It’s a big difference from high school but a good one. The only thing not so fun about college so far is the work load. I knew college would be hard, but I guess I wasn’t as prepared as I thought I was. Currently, I’m trying to work on my study habits and figure out how to kick my procrastination habit. I’ll definitely need to do that if I want to survive college. In all, I’m looking forward to the experience this school will bring me.
