Hey! I hope I’m responding correctly to this post, but I thought convocation was great. I met even more people here than I did at orientation and they’re awesome, especially this group. I also became more familiar with the building and where the classrooms are, so hopefully I won’t be lost. It made me more excited to start the school year, if this storm ever ends.
I agree with Natalie ! Convocation was much more helpful & engaging than orientation, and I actually talked to people and made friends, making me less nervous to start school. And yeah, its easier to find my way around now, so I’ll see you guys on Monday if the trains start working lol.
btw, I love this LC group 😀
I don’t want to make orientation seem bad or anything, but I have to agree, convocation was an experience I’m glad I didn’t miss. It really crushed the ice we “broke” at orientation. I look forward to the next meeting with our group. Good luck guys 🙂
Same here, I thought that this convocation was better than orientation. Meeting and getting to know the group was the best part of the day. Orientation just felt too dragged out and I wasn’t looking forward to classes afterwards, just getting my id card and leaving.
I agree with everyone, the convocation was a lot better than orientation! At first i thought it was gonna be a very long and boring day but in the end it turned out to be the complete opposite! I look forward to spending time with my favorite LC group 😀
Even though I had the LAST orientation back in August 2008, I will say that Orientation was long but kinda ok. They almost messed up my schedule and tried to give me history 1004 when I had AP credit but my OL, jenny fixed it.
Convocation 2011 was the BEST convocation I have been to since coming to Baruch. This was my 3rd Convocation that I worked and the 2nd one where it rained a lot but the energy of the freshmen class of 2015 and my fellow peer mentors was very high. I had a blast meeting you all and it made me anxious to see how our semester together will turn out.
I just got my blogs@baruch account to work today. I missed the first half of convocation. The part I walked in on was fun, and the racial diversity video was…interesting. It’s true, Baruch is very very diverse. I’ve never seen so many minorities in one school in my life. At this school the minorities are the majority. I’m from Vermont. It’s about 96% white.

Like everyone else, I agree with everything above. Don’t know what else to add to that.
