Your Peer Mentor !
So there is the guy you are going to be stuck with the entire Fall 2011 semester and I kind of feel bad for you, because he is so awesome and you are lucky to have been lumped together and paired with him. His name is….
JORDAN MCFARLANE-BEAU !!!!
Hello LC13, I just want to explain a little bit about me just in case you all do not ask me. I feel its important for us to get to know each other so that our time together is more memorable and useful.
My name is Jordan McFarlane-Beau. I am a Baruch College senior in the Zicklin School of Business majoring in Operations Management and minoring in English. I started at Baruch shortly after graduating from Westbury High School in Long Island in the summer of 2008 and aim to graduate in June 2012 (ontime). I have been teaching Freshman Seminar as a peer mentor for the past 2 years now (going on to my 3rd & final year) starting in the Fall 2009 semester. This class, LC 13 will be my LAST group/class of Freshman Seminar students so I am hoping with your help to make it the most memorable experience for me.
Your LC professors for the semesters are Professor Erica Kaufman, your ENG 2100 professor and Professor Alexandra Kutnick, your PSY 1001 professor. The amazing part is that I was once a student of Professor Kaufman 3 years ago in the Fall 2008 semester and also for ENG 2150 in the Spring 2009 semester and she is the one that helped me to decide that I wanted to minor in English and a major part in what led me to start writing poems.
I have 5 siblings; 2 brothers & 2 sisters
I am from Westbury, Long Island but I currently live in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
My family is from Jamaica on my Mom’s side.
In high school, I did every activity outside of sports or arts & music; I was Class President (unopposed for all 4 years)
I am one of Baruch College’s R.A.s or resident assistants at the Baruch dorms at 101 Ludlow in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
I have worked for Baruch College since I was a sophomore and loved all my jobs because I get to work exclusively with students.
I am 20 years old, a highly organized individual with a great sense of humor who takes his job and his school seriously.
