I’m Blatantly Narcissistic.

Alright so who do I think I am? Well, for starters, I like to think of myself as a “people-person”- I like talking to people. It drives me absolutely crazy when I’m in a group of people and no one wants to talk, so I usually try and start a conversation with little to no common ground with the person I’m talking to. This tactic often results in me making a complete fool out of myself.. but hey- that’s life, right?

My top three concerns regarding my first semester at Baruch would be grades, managing my schedule, and making friends. The concern about grades speaks for itself- we’re all here for the same reason (well, maybe not)- to get that A so we get a fantastic job, or get into a fantastic graduate school. That’s by far my top priotity.

As most of you know, I have a killer commute from Rockland County, and I also bring my food and gym stuff with me everywhere I go. It can get to be a hassle, and making sure I have everything prepared can get a little insane, but overall I think it’s worth it. Making sure I catch the buses and trains to get to school on time is my second priority this semester.

Making friends is probably my last concern with regards to this semester at Baruch. In the past I’ve let my social life and extracurriculars get in the way of my grades, and for college I hope to reduce that interferance as much as possible. However, I still think it would drive me crazy if I didn’t meet anyone new this semester. I think making connections can be just as important as grades, at least as some level.

My Baruch experience will probably be interesting, although I am a bit bummed that I won’t be involved in athletics as much as I was in high school. I guess that’s one of the disadvatages to being in the city- more steel and less grass. Regardless, I’ll still find ways to have fun, and maybe I can apply all of my pent-up energy to something more productive and useful. That’s probably how Baruch will chang me.

Alright guys, assignment DONE. I’ll see you all in class on Monday.
