My experience at baruch so far has pretty good. I was kind of happy to find out that i only had two classes and not five classes. Only having two classes has allowed me to gently start my college experience rather then being unable to handle five classes. This gives me a lot of free time to see what else the college has to offer me as a student. It also gives a feel for how i have to study in order to keep my grades. So overall my experience so far at Baruch has been good.

My name is Thomas Mincone, I am 18 years old and i attend Baruch College. The main reason I am in College is becuase of my mother. If my mom would allow me to drop out of college I would. This is becuase i do not want to have a normal job when i get older. My friend who is a junior in college is looking to start up a buisness and am thinking about dropping out to start it with him. If i can not start a buisness when i get older the only other job i would like to have is to be a dad. One regret that I have about my life is that i have to become to lazy. When is was younger I used to play soccer, football, baseball, and i used to do gymnastics. I did all of these things from when i was really little to when I was going in to high school. Around the time i was in fifth grade i met a person who today is my best friend. He did not play any sports. Since he did not play any sports and i always hung out with him i started to get less involved in sports. I dont regret meeting him because he is my best friend but i regret allowing myself to become lazy. One thing in my life that is happening right now is both good and bad.  My brother just moved out of the house and is getting married next year. This is good becuase now that my brother is out of the house I moved into his room which is bigger than mine. But more importantly the bad thing about this is that i dont see my brother as much anymore. My brother was the person in my house that i talked to about everything. I know i can still talk to him on the phone but it is not the same as seeing everyday.

What is community service? I think that community service is taking time out of your day to help someone specifically or a whole community. It is doing what you can to help your community. You can do community service because it makes you happy to help other people with thier problems. On th other hand you can do community service because it is mandatory for some reason. Whatever the reason for you doing community service does not matter. It is all the same because in both ways you are helping benefit the lives of others which is what community service is.

Have you done any community service? Community service has not always been very important to me. I have not done much community service in my life but i have done a little. A few years ago i used to help teach gymnastics at a gymnastics camp to kids from the age of 6 to 12. Even though i did this service because i had to for school it still felt good to help people out. Because i liked the feeling of helping the kids out with their gymnastics i volunteered to help teache for a second year. This time it felt even better because i was doing because i wanted to not because i had to.

Who am I? I am the person that i would like to be. I am a reflection of all the decsions I have made in my life. Whether the choice was a good choice or a bad choice each one has still made a difference in my life. Each one of the choices i have made affects my life differently but i always am happy with the way things turn out. I am a reflection of all of my family members. My family has made me the person who i am today. They tought me everything i need to know to become the person i would like to be. These values that i have been taught by my family have helped me make the tough decisions in my life and helped shape the person that i have become today. I am very happy with who i am because i have people who always support me and the things i do.

What are your top three concerns about your freshman year at baruch? My main concern is the amount of efferot that i will have to put into each class. In high school i did not really have to apply myself and did very little work outside of school. College on the other hand is very different because i can no longer sit back and let things happen. I have to be on the top of my game and make sure that i am doing everything right. My second main concern about my freshman year at baruch is that i am a procrastinator. This is a pretty big problem to deal with because the level of work is different from high school and college. In high school i can wait to the night before something is do and still get a good grade on it, but in college the level of work that is required is higher. so most likely i will not be able to produce a paper that will get me a  good grade unless i put the time in to work on it. My third main concern is writing papers. This is a big concern for me because in high school the writing level is much lower than in college. So i really have to put time into my papers and can not rush them.

What will be different from your college experience to your high school experience? The thing that will be the most different for me is the amount of work and the level of work that is required. In college i will have to do a lot more work and make it better quality than in high school.

How do you think your first year of college will change you? I think that my first year of college will make me a more responsible person. College will teach me that i am in control of my life.

Last thursday my freshman seminar class visited the library. This was a pretty intresting visit. We learned about where things are in the library and how we can use them. This tour helped me a lot because i now know what i need to do if i need something in the library. I can see myself using the library a lot to help me with my studies.
