My Favorite Workshop
Out of all the workshops we’ve been to this semester, my favorite workshop, like most people, is Baruch Voices. Although it might have been the most educational workshop, it was definitely the most interesting. The actors made it extra entertaining by exaggerating the monologues, especially the Asian actor.
It was nice listening to other people’s monologue and relating to how their freshman year went. I could relate to a lot of the problems that was addressed in the monologues. There was also a lot of monologues written by people that went to my High School which made it more significant. The monologues revealed a lot about them that I never knew.
The actors did a great job showing the monologues and bringing out the message of each of them. My favorite one was the one about quitting smoking by the Asian actor. He gave it a really funny twist and kept the audience engaged the entire time. Another monologue that left an impression was the girl that cut herself. It reminded me that a lot of people are different on the inside than what they appear to be.

Freshman Year at Baruch
Freshman year was pretty much what I expected. I have a lot of free time and the work load isn’t that bad. But I spend way to much time procrastinating instead of doing school work. At the beginning classes were really easy but things started picking up. I think I’m doing pretty well but I could definitely be doing a lot better if I put more time in to studying.
This semester my classes started pretty early, especially having classes at 8:15 on Tuesdays and Thursday. Surprisingly I was only late a couple of times. Sadly, next semester is gonna be a repeat of this because all my classes start super early. Too bad my registration started so late…
Before the semester started a lot of people told me that if I didn’t join any clubs Baruch would be very boring. I ended up not joining any clubs because I wanted to see if I could handle the work freshman year. And to my surprise the semester wasn’t that bad. I had a lot of free time meaning I could get lots sleep. Next semester I’m going to to join a club though so I’ll have more things to do after class instead of just going home.
So far Baruch doesn’t seem that bad and hopefully it will get better.
