“Take Me As I Am”

My Playlist

These songs are a few of my favorite. They do not necessarily help describe who I am, but more of what I believe in and chase after in life. To me, the most important thing in life is that you try. Things will always get difficult along the way, but it doesn’t mean that you can go without putting up a fight for what you want. I always stop to ask myself, “Why stop now when you’ve made it this far?”. I believe that life doesn’t come easy and to get to where you want to be, you have to work for it. Your efforts reflect who you are, who you become, and how far you’ve made it from who you used to be. From my experiences, I have come to realize that it is important to really differentiate who you want in your life from those who are insignificant. There will always be people who want to bring you down, but there are also friends who bring out who you truly are. I may not be the kind of person who will want to open up to you, because I’ve learned that it’s okay to keep certain things to yourself. I’m not bitter, if you actually knew who I was you’d know I can be overly amused by the smallest things, plainly blunt when I want to be, or just me.

My Songs.

1. “Mr Brightside” – The Killers
2. “Dirty Paws” – Of Monsters And Men
3. “Don’t Kick The Chair” – Dia Frampton
4. “Dare You To Move” – Switchfoot
5. “The A Team” -Ed Sheeran
6. “Remember The Name” – Fort Minor
7. “Your Love Is A Song” – Switchfoot
8. “Volcano” – Damien Rice
9. “Skinny Love” – Birdy
10. “I Will Follow You Into The Dark” – Death Cab For Cutie

I believe that these songs describe who I am in a way, because well first of all some of these songs are my favorites. Others I added on here because the lyrics were interesting to me and described the way the world is around us. If you listened to the playlist, I think it would be easy to tell what I like to listen to. It does change from time to time though, depending on how I am feeling on a certain day. Most of these songs are not what you would consider upbeat songs. I guess I just like to listen to slower songs; I like to focus on the lyrics in a song more than the actual music sometimes. And most of the songs in this playlist do have some type of underlying message to them, which is what I like. Enjoy. :{D

My 10 Songs

My Playlist

My playlist:

1. “Young Blood” – The Naked and Famous
2. “Electric Feel” – MGMT
3. “Million Dollars” – Big Sean
4. “Loca People” – Sak Noel
5. “I’m Your Daddy” – Weezer
6. “Love in Brasil” – Andreea Banica
7. “Soul Meets Body” – Death Cab for Cutie
8. “Cemetery Gates” – Metallica (played every Halloween, my favorite holiday)
9. “Alors on Danse” – Stromae
10. “Shove It” – Santogold

Finding songs that I think represent myself was actually pretty difficult. I listen to a lot of different types of music, and what I listen to all depends on what mood I’m in. The songs above are just a few of the many songs that I think represent my mindset, sense of humor, interests, and personality. Certain songs on this list I heard in other countries or were produced in other countries, and they’re on this list because I love traveling and listening to foreign music. A lot of the songs on my list are upbeat because I consider myself someone who doesn’t like sitting still. My favorite types of music would have to be anything I can dance to, but I do have days when all I want to do is listen to classic rock. I listen to rap as well but I’m pretty picky when it comes to that genre. #3 is an example of one of the few contemporary rap songs I like because I think this represents some of my bigger goals. As you can see, I enjoy pretty much all types of music, apart from Country.. I really don’t like Country (sorry, Tennessee:)).

me

my music

hi,

My list of music:

1. “Lose Yourself” by Eminem

2. “Free Bird” by Lynrd Skynrd

3. “The Bitch is Back” by Elton John

4. “Pursuit of Happiness” by Kid Cudi

5. “Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon” by Urge Overkill

6. “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses

7. “People Are Strange” by The Doors

8. “Get Up, Stand Up” by Bob Marley

9. “Strobe” by Deadmau5

10. “Home By the Sea” by Genesis

I like mostly Classic Rock but I also like a good deal of other types of music other than Jazz and Country. These songs relate to me not only because they are all songs or entire bands that for a long time I couldn’t stop listening to, but also because the messages in these songs are similar to my personality. Some of these songs are things I think people in general along with myself should strive to achieve at least part of the time.

My First Blog!

Playlist: Who Am I?

Hey all!

Well, I beat you all to it and have officially posted the first blog of the FRO Fall 2012 season for Section BMD. This playlist that I attached really doesn’t show who I am to my freshmen students, but more of the morals and things I would do for you guys or for true friends and definitely my family. Some of the songs have lyrics that depict the message I’m trying to send and others have it embedded in the song title. For you all, I hope you come to the realization that I look at myself as your leader and someone who will always be there for you. I want you all to know that. As I always say, and I stand by this, once a peer mentor, always a peer mentor. If you ever need help, now, next semester, next year, in five years, ten years, twenty years, whatever it is, as unlikely as that may seem, I’ll still be there. Just wanted you guys to know it. I hope you enjoy the ten song playlist I put together! 🙂

Song list:

  1.  “Walk” – Foo Fighters
  2.  “Changes” –  Tupac
  3.  “We Are Now Connected” – Mord Fustang
  4.  “I’m a Boss” – Meek Mill ft. Rick Ross
  5.  “Be Yourself” – Audioslave
  6.  “Just Like You” – Three Days Grace
  7.  “Lose Yourself” – Eminem
  8.  “Patience” – Guns N’ Roses
  9. “Kryptonite” – 3 Doors Down
  10. “Safe Home” – Anthrax

Best,

Blog #1

Hello Beautiful Students of FRO section BMD,

I finally got to adding you all on this website. This is where all of your blogging will go on. Now, I’ll show you all more about how to blog and how this all works, but know that you can make your blogs public or private to only our FRO class. As far as blogging goes, this will be your first of a few blogs throughout the semester. It goes as follows:

Create a two minute video, an eight image slideshow, or a ten song musical playlist that represents who you think you are to your classmates. Embed your creation in a blog post and then write no more than 500 words that explains how what you’ve created speaks to who you are. Here are some free tools that you can use for this assignment, but you are free to use whatever service you like:

  • Video Editors: Youtube Editor http://www.youtube.com/editor/
  • Image Slideshows:

– Blogs@Baruch built-in galleries (documentation forthcoming)

– Flickr – http://flickr.com

– Flickr Slidr – http://flickrslidr.com

– Picassa – http://picasaweb.google.com/

– Image loop – http://www.imageloop.com/

  • Musical Playlists:

– Grooveshark – http://grooveshark.com

– Spotify – http://www.spotify.com/us/

– Mixpod – http://www.mixpod.com/

So guys, you have until October 1st, 2012 to complete this assignment. That is three weeks away and I assure you it won’t take long to do. There will be no extensions on this assignment and remember blogs are worth a critical amount of your FRO grade. Have fun and be creative with this!  =]

Best,

Your Peer Mentor,

Robi Baaazashvili
