My name is solomon. I am honest, reliable, and sarcastic. I love to eat, drive, and discover new music. I hate having to respect people who do not deserve it just because they are in a higher position than me, i believe respect should be earned. I identify myself as a korean male. I am a brother, a son, a friend, and a boyfriend. My friends are very important to me because they like the family i wish i had. One of my biggest fears is having no direction in life. I am happy when i am on my own and providing for myself. I am happy when i go on vacation with my friends and when i am driving. Some of the qualities that i hold dear are friendship, reliability, honesty, and loyalty. I feel embarrassed every single time i trip on the escalator or on the stairs. My personal theme song is “Good Life” by Kanye West. The two things i want most right now is to buy a car and to accepted into SUNY Buffalo.

These songs help me keep my faith and believe that I can make it through my hardest times in my life. I listen to and sing these songs when I am feeling down or alone in my own world.

These two songs represent who i am as a woman. I do not like to rely on other people to do or get things for me. These songs reflect my do-it-yourself mentality at times.

These upbeat songs keep me in a good mood. I even say parts of the songs at random. They also make me want to bust-a-move.

This song helps me realize that my past is not as important as my present or my future. It also represents the transitions in my life that I’ve been through.

These songs also give me strength, but in a different way than the other songs. Because I am somewhat shy and quiet, these songs help to be more confident in myself and never give up even when times get ruff.

As this picture explains music is a very important aspect of my life. Whether it’s playing it, listening to it, or studying it. Without music my life would not be as enjoyable as it currently is. I am also a huge fan of discovering new music and introducing others to new music. So if you’re bored of your current music let me know and I’ll be glad to help you out!

Another important thing in my life is Film. I am obsessed with watching movies, learning about them, and attempting to make them. I enjoy almost all genres of film and I also strive to find new movies to cherish and share with others. To me film is the second most beautiful form of art next to music.

Another important aspect of my life is friends. I always enjoy making new ones and making lasting relationships with the people whom I enjoy there company. To me there is nothing that makes me more happy then having people around for you.

I also really enjoy reading. I’ll read anything that piques my interest or if I can learn something useful from it. I haven’t been reading as much books as I would like to but I enjoy reading graphic novels. magazines, and newspapers.

I also hold my family extremely close and I cherish that they will always be around to support me. I love them dearly for this.

Even though it’s been a while since I’ve participated in it, Fencing is my favorite sport. I have been doing it for about 6 years and due to college I have had the time to compete but I hope to change that.

I am an avid player of video games and own the X-Box 360 and Ps3. I currently haven’t had much time to play but when I do I especially love playing first-person shooters, rpgs, and third-person adventure games.

Blame it on Bad Luck – Bayside
This song discusses a problem that many people including myself have. We often disregard our own role in a situation and blame others or just “blame it on bad luck”. The writer attempts to better accept his mistakes – and teach us that we need to accept ours – through this song. “Pound my knuckles hard against the floor… but I did this to myself, assume its just not worth getting back up, so I’ll blame it on bad luck and shirk responsibility…” Something like that, you get the point.

For the Love of God – Steve Vai

This instrumental piece by an idol of mine delves into the feelings of devotion that one has when in love. I would know, I asked him. It is such passion that Vai exhibits through his instrument and writings that inspire me to love my craft more and look forward to finding love so that I may experience the beauty that he conveys through his work.

Hallelujah Chorus – Handel

Through this work we can better understand the blending of color when concerned with different vocal groups. This piece written for SATB demonstrates uses of both open and closed position voicings and its final cadence can be applied to numerous situations from writing. Over all it is not only a highly instructional, but inspirational piece.

Dvorak’s 3rd symphony

I am listening to this for the first time right now cause Fink said it’s really good and I think I may agree with him thus far (about 40 seconds into it) that it rivals his most famous symphony, his ninth. The mixture of colors from the strings and woodwinds, especially the violins and flutes during what I believe is the development section of the first movement (I’m probably wrong since I still haven’t heard the rest of it) evokes more pathos than any excerpt from his ninth. The beginning of the piece – the way that he blended brass and strings, though still using woodwinds as a medium – shocked me as I did not realize that the two sections were blended with such lack of mediation from the woodwinds as he does here during the time period. Rimsky-Korsokov’s teachings are very much against it and I feel that he would disapprove of this work because of the distinction of the individual choruses, rather than their blend.

I am now at 455 words and I may as well aim for 499 since it has to be less than 500. And I forget what we actually have to do so hopefully I cover all the bases…. Hey I went over 500 words, but I that’s me in a nut shell – someone who rambles on tangents and forgets what the actual topic was. So this blog is actually a fairly decent representation of myself when taken for its deeper meaning! and the reader may better understand me from what I say about these four songs than if I said one sentence about 10 songs so it should still count… right?

I was born in Hong Kong and moved to Fresh Meadows, New York when I was three years old. I moved again when I was entering third grade to Little Neck, where I have been living for nine years so far.
I want to major in and am highly interested in business management or marketing.
My friends have a huge impact on my life because they understand and care about me.
When I am at home or at a friend’s house, I usually try to cook new types of food with them. I want to learn how to cook some of my favorite foods well.
Music makes me relaxed and makes me happy when I listen to it. My favorite genres of music are R&B and Korean pop.
I am very interested in fashion and love to go shopping. I also like to design clothes when I have time.
I like singing to with my friends for fun at karaoke or just for fun.
I took art class as my major for three years. I chose it because I like the experience of creating art and telling a story or creating a mood through this medium.

I was born in China and moved to America when I was 6.
