Who I Am

1. Good life By Kanye West – This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Whenever i hear it i think of the afterprom that me and my friends threw in the Hamptons and it always makes me feel happy. Whenever it comes on my friends and I can’t help but to sing along and reminisce about that weekend. Hands down it was the best weekend of my life. I will never forget that experience and even if i do Good Life was the theme song for our weekend and whenever i hear it all the memories come rushing back.

2. All star By Smash Mouth – This movie reminds me of my childhood. It’s also a feel-good song that always puts me in a cheery mood. There was a Digimon movie that came out when i was a child and this song played in the beginning of the movie so this song puts me in a nostalgic mood. Also, even though I’m 18 now, sometimes when i hear this song i get the strong urge to rewatch the movie and every once in awhile i do and think back to when i was younger and so carefree.

3. If Today Was Your Last Day By Nickelback – I believe that the lyrics to this song help to put life into perspective. Even though life is hard sometimes and it might not always be great this song reminds me that this is the only life i will have and that i should make the most of it. It reminds me to cherish each day because i never know which one will be my last. It helps me take the phrase “carpe diem” to heart.

4. The Ambitious Girl by Wale – Listening to wale is refreshing because he is one of the few lyrical rappers left. He doesn’t rap about nonsense like most mainstream artist these days but talks about relevant things. I like this song because we are similar in the fact that when it comes to woman we both need more than just a pretty face. I want to know that my woman is goal-orientated and has her priorities in order. I wouldn’t want to see a girl that just partied all the time and never did any work. For me, ambition is necessary.

5. She’s Like The Wind by Lumidee – I had a huge crush on this one girl in middle school and this song used to always remind me of her because it described her perfectly. To me she really was “like the wind” she would come out of nowhere and have no idea of the effect she had on me and she would leave just as quickly

6. Kyoto By Skrillex – This was another big song from after prom. Whenever the drop came for this song everybody would just be dancing without any inhibitions or fear of looking stupid. This song always got everybody out of their seats and bring everyone together. This song is also the reason why i started to like dubstep.

7. Fragile By Sting – My father used to play this song for me when i was a baby and it would always put me to sleep and even now sometimes when i have trouble falling asleep all i have to do is listen to this and it will knock me right now.

8. 8:45 Heaven by Drunken Tiger – One of my favorite songs from him and it relates to him because he talks about how his grandmother passed away and my grandma is also very sick and i am afraid she might pass soon too.

9. 미련한 사랑 by JK 김동욱 – This was my mom’s favorite song when i was little and i used to always hear it but i never knew what song it was until last year when i accidentally heard it and recognized it and memories from when i was a child started popping into my head. If i ever miss my mom i can listen to this and feel better.

10. Maliblue by Darius – relaxing movie to drive to

The playlist of songs I have listed should show that I’m very energetic. According to me there is no such thing as “too loud”, therefore i am always blasting music. Whether someone is with me in the car, in my house or in my office, they are more likely to have a good time due to the blasting of music which I am responsible for. I very much enjoy going to concerts and listening to my favorite deejays playing a live set. House music rules!

Who I Am

The playlist below are the ten songs that best express who I am. Although, I do not believe that these are the only songs who describe who I am.

Who I Am (Click Link)

1. Call on Me – Eric Prydz : This song repeats the same 5 words (if you want to get technical, 3 words) “Call on me.. Call me.” Despite the simplicity of the song, it perfectly sums up how reliable I am. I am always there to help others. I also try to go above and beyond to help you all.

2. Champion – Kanye West: This is more of empowerment song for me. Gives me inspiration to be the best “Ashley” I can be. 🙂

3. I’m a Boss- Meek Millz: I get dressed to this song EVERY SINGLE MORNING. I plan on conquering the world, JK, but this inspires me in the morning.

4.  The Climb – Miley Cyrus

5. Everything is Everything – Lauryn Hill

6. Hard in the Paint – Waka Flocka Flame: My other favorite “hood” song. Everything I do is to the fullest.

7. I am Blessed – Mr. Vegas

8.  I Can – Nas

9. Dance (Ass) – Big Sean: This song sounds like it would be inspiration for a video hoe or stripper, I just like this song because it makes me dance, hence the title.

10. Redemption Song – Bob Marley

P.S. Notice, I didn’t fill out all the songs, you don’t have to, because the themes in the songs may be repetitive. Just explain about 5 of them, if you choose to make a playlist.
