My experience at Baruch has been so far OK  The teachers here were are different different than my high school teachers. I was very used to the way that my high school teachers taught. So at first it was very difficult to adjust to the new way of teaching. But I adjusted to the new way to teaching, even though I don’t like it. I don’t like the way that the professors teach one thing and then they put a completely different thing on the test and that if you try to ask them a question about a problem they tell you your getting it wrong because your doing it the wrong way, which is exactly the reason why I am asking the question to find what what the right way is. So as I said before my experiences at Baruch was OK, it wasn’t great but it also wasn’t terrible. I will slowly get used to everything

So my image is apparently unable to upload because it was too big. so basically the image was 2 dancers jumping to the moon in the middle of a forest at night.one dancer is higher and closer to the moon than ever. these two dancer represent my choices of trying to transfer from baruch as soon as possible or to stay there until i mature a little more and then leave. the dark forest is basically me being in the dark about my future. and the dancers jumping to the moon is me following my dreams. Very short and simple.

I was unable to make it to Baruch voices because I had a mandatory dress rehearsal that i needed to attend. so i hope baruch voices was good. my performance went well, i guess.

One of the many things that I’ve learned in Baruch is to not be a smart ass. I learned this from a couple of students in my classes. Professors are simply not the same as teachers in High School. Talking back and cracking jokes will actually affect your grades. Some of these professors don’t play around. Strict attendance, hard grading policies, and hard assignments just shows how different they are compared to teachers.

I chose this gif. because it shows how the professors will always be a step ahead of their students because that’s what their job is about.

So I’ve been a Baruch student for almost 4 months and the semester is just about to end. Of course I’m trying to end my 1st semester with a bang. But I believe that this GIF image is the best way to describe my time here so far. Over the course of the semester my classes have been lectured non-stop about the change between high school and college. I’ve honestly been hearing these lectures since 9th grade, I understood what the differences before i even applied to college. Also, this gif can relate to my two classes that I am currently in where the professor just wont stop talking for over an hour. I had a great semester and im very excited about spending my college years here at Baruch.

It would do me no justice to discuss my time at Baruch in the last (also first) three months. However, I will do so anyway, in the small case that the gif posted above did not summarize it already. I adopted to my surroundings at Baruch almost instantly. Things were pretty straight-forward: I listened in class; I completed my homework at home; I prepared for my exams wherever I was able to. Soon enough my schedule at Baruch became invariable. I was fortunate enough to find ways to challenge myself outside of the classroom. All in all, my experience has been adequate for my daily needs for human development. I will refrain from writing a copious amount of details on my experience at Baruch. In the case that there arise any questions, refer to the gif posted above.

This picture describes my first three months here at Baruch because I feel that it represents being clueless. When I first got here, I felt very overwhelmed trying to adjust to living in the city, playing volleyball, keeping up with my grades, and being social. I found myself not taking care of my priorities and just solely worrying about volleyball and going out with my friends. Unfortunately, my grades began to slip and I fell behind in a lot of my classes. I began to feel clueless because I was once such a great student and here I am, unmotivated and falling behind. After volleyball ended and I had a lot more time on my hands, I realized that I am here for school and that should be my number one priority. I created a schedule for myself to organize when I had free time to do the things I wanted and when I only had time for schoolwork. Although I am not completely where I want to be in life right now, I think that I’m progressing.

Observing my friends, I noticed that they seem to be having the same problem as me. I think that a lot of freshman have the problem of trying to adjust to a new setting while fitting in at the same time. In order for this to be at a minimum, I believe that high school should better prepare their students for what’s to come.
