My College Experience in One Picture
THIS is the picture that would summarize my first semester at Baruch because I took something scary but made it as funny as I could have with the help of some friends. The laughs I’ve had and the inside jokes told were unlike any other 😀

Enrichment Workshops
The most useful of the three enrichment workshops was the play at the beginning of the year. In my opinion they were all useless but I enjoyed that play and it took a lot of stress off my mind. A useful enrichment workshop would be to create a workshop that allows you to help prepare for the workload you may have sophomore year.

Panagioti’s Monologue
I am my own person and I love being different. I feel that being the same as everyone else is just plain boring. Life is full of many surprises, good and bad. You can never be prepared for what comes your way. You have got to be spontaneous just as life is. Think of random thoughts that have absolutely nothing to do with the subject you are talking about. For all I care just go ahead and day dream. However, I have realized that being in college requires less day dreaming and more focusing on time management. I feel as if I have more responsibilities now that I am in college and I also feel that my responsibilities have gone up in importance exponentially. I mean what I do now will impact the rest of my life. That’s kinda cool and scary at the same time. Maturing doesn’t mean buying a car or talking back to your parents. I feel that being mature means that you not only have responsibilities, but that you can take care of them properly. As we go on in life we have to be wiser. We are the future of America. It would be a shame if the people who run this country were people who didn’t now how to take care of their responsibilities . To conclude this monologue I will leave you with a phrase that I have made up that keeps me motivated. You are not strong until you can mentally handle that which you can’t feel, and you can physically handle that which you’re mind can’t.

Who is Panagiotis Vasilounis?
Hello, my name is Panagiotis Vasilounis. I was born here in America but my parents were not. My mom was born in New Zealand which is right below Australia, and my dad was born in Athens the capital of Greece. I am a very outgoing person. I am very friendly and I love making new friends. Some of my hobbies are drumming, playing guitar, playing soccer and watching t.v. My favorite band is named Avenged Sevenfold. They are a hard rock band whose drummer was my idol. Unfortunately he passed away December 28, 2009. I am also a cancer survivor which I think is pretty cool. I had lymphoma which is a cancer of the immune system but for some reason it formed in my knee bone. After 3 months of chemo I was left with half of my knee bone which made it really hard to walk around or do anything for that matter. After a year my knee grew back since it takes bone a very long time to grow. However this interfered a lot with my drum playing because it’s really hard to play drums using only one foot. I had to wait a whole year just to get back to playing. I also remember having a headache for 4 months straight. It was a spinal headache which meant that whenever I stood up straight, I would get a really bad headache. I had to lie down all the time. It was pretty annoying. Speaking of annoying, I have an annoying 11 year old brother who thinks he is the boss of everyone. I try to be a great role model for him. I can’t tell if it’s working or not though. I love laughing. I don’t think I can go one sentence without having a smile on my face. All in all I’m a pretty crazy, funny, nice person who loves music and has had his share of bad luck but still looks at the bright side of life. I suggest everyone does the same.
