Since I’m such a music lover, I decided to make a music playlist. We had to construct a playlist according to how I would like to viewed to my classmates. Well, my classmates don’t really know me. But since I love music so much, and it means so much to me, I decided to make a 10-song playlist based on songs that are specifically meaningful to me.

1. Dance Yrself Clean by LCD Soundsystem – This song opens up my playlist because it’s possibly one of my favorite songs ever. I have so many good memories with song in the background. The way it rises and falls is beautiful, and it’s a great song to go crazy to. It’s such an important song for me personally because it reminds me of so many good times in my life.

2. Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear – This song gets me so happy. The melodies and harmonies in this song are so uplifting and positive, it is almost impossible for me to not smile from it.

3. My Girls by Animal Collective – My Girls’ message is about good values, and all you want is a house, a wife, and children to raise. To live the classic American dream, something I really appreciate, personally. Not only that, but it’s a sick song, it’s pumpy and the buildup is unbelievable.

4. Helplessness Blues by Fleet Foxes – I love this song so much. It talks about how everyone works together in the world, and it’s not worth complaining about things we don’t know about.

5. Float On by Modest Mouse – Float On is about having awful stuff happening to you, but just dismissing it and forgetting about about it and looking forward to the future. Like Hakuna mata.

6. Solitude is Bliss by Tame Impala – This song interests me so much because it speaks about the wonders of being alone, which is an interesting concept for a very trippy and fun song.

7. The Rat by The Walkmen- This song makes me go crazy. I have so much fun to this song and dance like crazy to this thing.

8. Feel It All Around by Washed Out – Great band, great song. It takes you to another world, and it’s unique to any song on this list or that I know of.

9. Wake Up by Arcade Fire – Whenever I hear this song, I just want to throw my hands up in the air in jubilation.  It’s so freeing, and it makes me want to embrace the people next to me. Happiness just oozes out of this song.

10. All My Friends by LCD Soundsystem – All My Friends reminds me the happiest times of my life. It’s like the anthem for my and my friends, and gets me happy and sad at the same time, because my friends are all away at college now. But it’s a very powerful song in its own right, and deserves merit from that alone. But the fact that it makes me emote so much as well, it closes out my personal playlist.

1. Novi Novak – Want Me Gone

This song is a good representation of a part of my past. Some time back i used to be the only foreigner in a class of “blond hair, blue eyed” kids. Conflicts did arise and when it happened it usually was them against me kind of thing. In fact, the title of the song is quite fitting to the situation i had.

2. D-Why – Macchiato Music

Now this song is quite different. The lyrics are very self explanatory. It is a very egotistical song and i there is a side of me that fits what this song is about. I can be known to have a very big ego on occasion.

3. Novi Novak – Sleepin’ On Me

Another song by this little known artist that describes me. Throughout my life, i had people underestimate me a lot. And on each occasion they proved to be wrong. One very simple example is my former soccer coach. He formed a first impression opinion on my style of the game, which hindered my playing time. However, over the course of the season, he was forced to change his opinion of me, as i proved him wrong. Quite a few of my teachers were often left surprised with my academic performance, which always exceeded their expectations.

4. D-Why – I’m Here Now

A song very similar to #2 on the list. It is also performed in a very self-centered and even cocky matter. Same can be said about me me sometimes. I can come off as cocky and arrogant, but it worked for me so far.

5. Novi Novak – They’ll All See

This track ties in with #3 on the list. When people doubt or underestimate me i make a vow to myself to prove them wrong. Most of the time it works.

6. Eminem – The Way I Am

This is a very famous song by a very famous rapper. This is one of my all time favorites because in the song Eminem makes no excuses for his actions and states he doesn’t care about other people’s opinion. i feel like i can relate to this song very much. One of my traits is that i have absolutely zero interest in other people’s opinion about me.

7. Bruno Mars – Lazy Song

This one of the more known songs. And the title really speaks for itself. I am an incredibly lazy person and there is no getting away from the fact that on most day this is exactly how i feel. My lazyness has gotten in the way of many thing, and it is a major flaw to my personality, according to pretty much everyone. I do hope that as time goes on i will learn to overcome that flaw, but for know i remain one of the laziest people i know.

8. D-Why – One Day After 2 Chainz

Like the previous songs by this rapper it is a song that further illustrates my ego.

9. 2Pac – Dear Mama

One of the greats shows his appreciation to his mother. I also feel very grateful to my mother for raising me by herself, and give me an opportunity in life to become someone.  My gratitude and appreciation of my mother is a key part of my character

10. MGK – Wild Boy

To finish of my the list is a song that reveals another side of me. I have a very Daredevil attitude. I love to do things that get your heart racing. Things like bungee jumping, scuba diving and parkour all appeal to me.

I am Justin Ottrando and I chose to do the 8 image slideshow because I thought that would be the best way to describe me. First, I would like to say that I was born and grew up in Staten Island. I have lived in the same house my whole life and went to Monsignor Farrell High School which is Catholic school. Now, I will tell you about my slideshow images.

My second slide shows that I am an Italian who was born in America. I am fourth generation American on my fathers side and a third generation American on my mothers side. So, my family has been in America for a while. Also my favorite foods are Italian and American foods. I am also a Catholic who went to a Catholic High School as I stated before. I have one younger brother in my family as well as my dad and mom. I would do anything for them like they would do anything for me and I know i wouldn’t be at Baruch College without them.  I am also a very big sports fan in either playing or watching sports. I have loved playing and watching sports ever since I was a baby. I have played a lot of sports growing up including soccer, baseball, basketball, football, skiing and wrestling. My favorite teams I follow are the Giants, Yankees, Knicks, Rangers, Syracuse and St. John’s. My role model is Derek Jeter. He has always been my role model because he never has done anything wrong. His goal was to be the shortstop for the Yankees when he was a kid and he succeed and I found that unbelievable. I am also a very big music fan. I listen to all kinds of music but my favorite genre is Hip-Hop. I find it crazy how they can rhyme so many words and make it make sense. My favorite artist is Eminem because I think he is a lyrical genius and he is the best rapper of all time. I also like how he doesn’t care how anybody thinks of him. My last slide shows a picture of Baruch and accounting. I came to Baruch for accounting because it is one of the best business schools in America. Hopefully I become successful in accounting and have a future with it.

My first picture is soccer its my favorite sport and i play it daily i don’t really watch it because its to slow for me but when i play i feel amazing theirs no better feeling than scoring a goal.

My next two pictures depict my Judaism and my love fore Israel if you did not know i am a religious Jew that went to yeshiva goes to synagogue and celebrates the upcoming (and all holidays).

my next picture is of music, i am constantly listening to different kinds of music from house to rap to pop to rock to indie if i like i will listen to it right now my favorite music is house its very energetic and happy.

my next to pictures are of a family and making people laugh, family is very important to me i am the oldest of 3 girls and 1 boy and we are all extremely close.The other picture describes the comical side of me i love to make people laugh i thinks its because i can be very random, crazy and sometimes weird.

The next picture is of traditional Syrian food i know it doesn’t look like but i love food and coming from a Syrian family you have to my mom is an excellent cook words can not describe the taste of her food in fact she is the cook at my family’s cafe and everyone who eats her food falls in love with the place and her.

HI my name is Joseph Bekar and i have here to tell you a little about myself. my friends call me many different like Jo,  Bekar ( My last Name) and also Bruno because people think i look like Bruno Mars the famous singer. my family is originated from aleppo syria and i am a religious observant sephardic jew. i am very proud of my religion and i am a proud jew. During the winter months one of the things i most enjoy doing is playing football. i enjoy playing football during the cold months. i also really enjoy watching my favorite football team The New york Jets play each sunday. i even go to most of the games wether is 90 degrees or below zero. i also enjoy playing basketball and am really excited for the nets move to brooklyn were i live.  i live 15 minutes from the arena and am very excited to go to many of games this season. some things i enjoy doing on my free time is surf the web as well as play sports. my favorite products are from apple. i really enjoy the way their products are made and i feel they are much easier to use than other ones. during my vacation weeks i really enjoy going to the Caribbean islands and sitting on the beach. i enjoy the relaxation and it is really needed after a hard working semester at school. my favorite island is the bahamas. i also enjoy listening to music whenever i am able too. some of my favorite music is rock hip hop and slow music that i love listening too to relax and chill. i also enjoy playing sport video games like madden 13 and NBA 2k12 these games give me something to do when i just relax and I’m stressed. some of my favorite subjects in school are math chemistry and business classes. i feel that any one wanting to go into business should take as many business classes as possible and this will only help them be successful and wont hurt them in any way. this is a little about myself. About Me
