What I like best is to play soccer with my friends at the park every evening.          I like when i play nothing else in the world matters. i feel free and at peace. I like how i can express myself with the style of which i play. For example if  i am angry or mad i usually play more aggressively and more competitively sometimes ill lose myself in the game and get in to fights with the other players and sometimes with my own team mates. And if i am in a happy or good mood i usually play more nonchalantly and carefree if i am this type of mood you could always hear me cracking wise ass jokes which at times piss of the other players actually that was the reason i got kicked of my high school team in senior grade. I like the feeling when you put in a goal especially the ones that are hard to make and make all the players go crazy and question how in the world i scored that, their is nothing in the world like that feeling. Its amazing when you or your team mate score a goal and your whole team goes crazy and take like five minutes to celebrate that on goal even if were still losing. and its an even better feeling to see your opponents become upset and even furious, and when they start cursing at each other and screaming what they could of done better to prevent the goal. I like how a bunch of kids from all the corners of earth who who often don’t speak the same language can come together and play an incredibly beautiful game. I like how a bunch of kids who barely know each other at the start of a pick up game can be come great friends just after one game its incredible.

Joseph Bekar- Monologue- Post #2

Joseph Bekar on Oct 30th 2012

11 years ago i was only in second grade and sitting in school like any ordinary day. As we just started class i saw my father and a couple of other parents coming into class and picking us up to go home. i didn’t know what was going on but was really happy to know i was leaving school for the day. as i went outside I saw a big grey smoke cloud the filled the sky and debris floating to the ground. I didn’t know what happened until i got home and turned on the TV. what i saw was mayhem! people running in the streets crying and screaming from what just happened. They finally showed a video of what happened and i saw the south tower being struck by the plane and collapsing a couple of minutes later followed by north tower. what i saw the days after this disaster was what really impressed me and inspired me. as i write this during the aftermath of hurricane sandy  I’m seeing it again today. Everyone is offering to help people they don’t even know offering them comfort and support. people were going to shelters giving food and doing everything they could to restore order in NYC “the city that never sleeps”. community service is very important for everyone to do not only during natural disasters like 9/11 and hurricanes but rather everyday of ones life. whether its visiting the lonely giving them comfort or delivering food to less than fortunate people every good deed counts. i choose to write about this because community service is a big part of my life and i try to do it everyday of my life. as Mahatma Ghandi Puts it “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. community service is important for everyone and really gives me a different perspective on life.

Joshua Cohen- Monologue

josh cohen on Oct 29th 2012

So many of you are wondering why am i choosing the miami dolphins a my monologue, so let me begin to explain. My dad is originally from Miami Beach and is a diehard Miami Dolphin Fan. Since i was a baby he has been surrounding me  with only dolphins paraphernalia and jerseys and autographs. Furthermore, all my cousins and family are big Miami Dolphins Fans. The hard part of becoming a fan was all the positive things surrounding this football team all came before i was born. For example, the Miami dolphins are the only team to go undefeated and that occurred in 1972. Secondly Miami had one of the best quarterbacks ever, named Dan Marino, once again before i was really in the picture. Although my whole life the dolphins haven’t been such a great team, this year is really important to me and truly my first time to get excited as a fan. The Miami dolphins finally have a quarterback to be proud of. This past april in the NFL draft the miami dolphins selected in the first round quarterback Ryan Tannehill from Texas A&M.  Although it is his rookie year he has already showed flashes of success. Secondly miami put in all new coaches and management to start a new and exciting atmosphere.  As a die hard fan i am so happy i am finally beginning to see something special in my lifetime surrounding my favorite team. This past Sunday  i went to the Jets Dolphins game in New York and saw my team beat our rival 30-9. I really believe my team is slowly turning around and over the next few years could finally become that contender I’ve been waiting so long to see. There is absolutely nothing like watching your favorite team succede.

I NEED HOCKEY- Blog #2

Elliott Sutton on Oct 25th 2012

The NHL lockout has been a huge hardship for me and all other NHL fans. I am a due hard New York Ranger fan. I am a season ticket holder. I play hockey whenever I have free time and really all I enjoy doing and my favorite hobby is hockey. With the NHL lockout I am miserable and don’t know what to do with myself sometimes. Last year the rangers made it to the conference finals. From going to that much of a high to an all time low is (which is no hockey at all) is a huge let down for me and I think all other ranger and NHL fans would agree. Both parties need to be realistic and stop being so greedy because all it’s doing is hurting us the, the fans!
