First semester

The semester went by fast and turned out pretty good. It is what I basically expected; since I already had a feeling college would be hard even as a first semester freshman. The semester was definitely not easy, even thou it started out to look like it would be in September. The teachers went easy on the work, and the long sunny days, created a calmer atmosphere. It seemed like everyone understood that we were freshman and didn’t want to intimidate us so fast. Then mid-October came and everyone arrived at a brand new realization, that everything isn’t exactly what it seems. I was as prepared as I could have been for the work load, but its rapid, and stressful increase made the semester a bumpy roller coaster ride. The hardest part was the lack of time, and the fact that Baruch cut my study time at home in half because I got home very late on some days, due to my last class ending and transportation. This is something I wasn’t used to, being that my elementary, middle and high school were all just walking distance from my house. Other than that my first semester was what I pretty much expected to happen in college. The only thing left now is final week….and the essays…and homework…pretty much 75% of the semester crammed into the next 2 weeks. But as they say, “I guess that’s college.” If I had a chance to redo this entire semester I would probably not change anything and leave it this way, maybe find a way to manage my time better…or lack of it. But as the curtain begins to drop, and the term “freshman”, is changed to “upper freshman,” I feel proud to have made it to Baruch, and begin to prepare myself for what lies ahead.
