procrastination

Over the past few months in my first semester here at Baruch, I’ve realized I have a big issue with procrastination. I used to procrastinate in high school because I was able to get away with it being that it wasn’t that hard. I realized that I can’t continue to procrastinate in college after these few months. Organization is my keyword for the upcoming semesters here at Baruch. I thought Baruch was great overall, the only problem I had was with my work ethic. Instead of waiting until tomorrow, I’ll start doing my work as soon as possible. I know now in order to be successful, I have to change my old ways.

I remember when I found out about the trip, I wasn’t too excited I have to admit. I thought that I was going to die of boredom. Once I arrived at the gallery, my perspective changed on the way I thought about art. I used to think art was only just about pictures that expressed a persons emotions in an extract way, but in the gallery I saw real life events for what they were. I was able to see the emotions, expressions, and thoughts of an individual through their appearances. The pictures enlightened me on historical events I only read about in textbooks, giving me a real picture of what happened during the time through the causalities point of view.

NY Times Post

I found the NY Times project to be rather interesting. I don’t usually like working in groups being that I like doing work in my own way, usually being that I procrastinate more than others a bit and I usually don’t like going through the group organization part where everyone decides what to do, when to do it, etc.

I liked this group project though because my group decided to do a topic I find really interesting, E-Sports. I play games often and so did they, it was a perfect topic for the right group. Beyond the topic, I liked my group members because they had genuine personalities and I also made new friends in a new environment where you need all the friends you can get. The overall experience was one I’ll remember from my first semester at Baruch.

Image 1 – Throughout highschool I was apart of the football team at Bayside High School. I never really thought about football before 8th grade, being that it’s a rough sport and all. I’m glad I did though, I made amazing friends and I was actually pretty good at football at my position, quarterback. That picture is of my senior homecoming game.

Image 2 – Foooood! I love food! Simple as that! I was raised to have an open mind towards every type of food and to not be picky being that my mom always said “Some kids don’t have the opportunity to have the food you have.”

Image 3 – I love math. I don’t necessarily know whether it’s math itself or if it’s the challenging problems that constantly excite me. I find math easy to understand, as if it were a language that I spoke fluent in.

Image 4 -This is a picture of Downtown Manhattan from a Helicopter Tour around the city I took this past summer. I was always afraid of heights as a child for some reason, but after football, I gained the confidence to overcome my fears, and now I just love heights.

Image 5 – This is a picture of a game I play, League of Legends. Despite my looks, I actually am a very avid gamer. I love games because they let me continue to maintain friendships with friends who are at different states studying and whatnot. I also happen to be very good at the games I play, especially League. I hope in the following year to become a very famous streamer or player in the community.

Image 6 – This is a picture of condos in Bealeton, Virginia. I visit the town a few times every year now because that’s where my father resides. My parents are divorced, so I don’t really get to see my dad often, but every time I do, I have an amazing time, filled with amazing memories.

Image 7 – That’s a picture of me and my older brother when we were younger. Obviously I’m the shorter one in the picture. My main role model before college was my brother, Oscar. He definitely gave me a guideline of my morals, of what to do, and what not to do. I never really had that consistent fatherly figure, so whenever I accomplished something or needed help, he was the person I turned to, everytime.

Image 8 – Baruch College, the new chapter in my life. Even though I’m nervous of what’s to come, I’m excited to go on the many adventures along the way.
