Apple
The link to our NY Times Project was: https://blogs.baruch.cuny.edu/pswater
We decided to do this project on Apple because it was really convenient for all of us. In our sociology class, we read New York Times articles about how Apple hires its employees and the working conditions of these employees. This gave us a head start on our topic and makes the project easier. In addition, Apple released new version of the iPhone around the time this project was given to us which made it really easy for us to relate the topic of Apple to a local level. Personally, I enjoyed doing this project. By seeing the articles that my group and I have read, I was able to see how globalization affect the U.S. economy. I was also able to see how the issues that we have learned in American History class still pertain to modern day. Even though America is the land of the free, many American companies and industries still take advantage of child labor and make oversea employees have working conditions similar to the industrial revolution. This project helped me appreciate American history and the connections it has to modern day problems.

Every person in the group love gaming. League of Legends, one of the most popular MMO-based game right now. Online gaming is growing more popular as time goes on. Every where around the world, people begin to treat e-sports as a competitive sport. Top notch players are being sponsored by international electronic production companies. Such as Asus, Acers, Intel, etc. As people falls in love even more with gaming, people pursue live broadcasts on TV. With college being so stressful, playing video games or watching other people play and just watch the tournaments can relieve stress and play with your peers to improve your relationship.

Here is the link to the New York Times “front pages” that my group created: https://blogs.baruch.cuny.edu/nytfastfood/
My group decided to explore how fast food affects people’s life in our New York Times “front page”. This is important to our first semester at Baruch because as we start our college life, we are more likely to eat in a fast food restaurant instead of cooking for ourselves. Most of us are lazy. Fast food is a lot cheaper and affordable to many college students.
There are 7 post in total, one of them is about the obesity cause by consuming fast food in China; one of them is about the calories in fast food; one of them is about how Americans’ diet changed over time; two of the are about the fast food strike that just happen recently in both local and national level and the last post is advocating for consuming healthy food.
We choose to post these articles because we want to discuss how the health problem is not the only concern we should have regard to the fast food, how the fast food industries treat its employee should also be the concern.

Our group decided to pick e sports as our theme for the NY times. We decided as we all had interest in computer games and also it just happened to be during the league of lengends champs when we were supposed to pick.
On a more business side, I just wanted to show the money value of the industry, how its not small at all.The industry in underrated by many as it really populates along young men and asian countries.
It was.a.good.opportuinity to research as I learned the different fields and approach to this.newer industry.

Enrichment Workshop
Our trip to the art gallery was interesting. I am an avid supporter of art in all forms, but I found the tour guide to take away from the experience. Despite the interesting information she provided, I would have frankly enjoyed the visit more if we were allowed to browse the pieces on our own. There were some pieces I was more interested than others but didn’t get a chance to spend time with because the group was moving somewhere else. Some of these include the woman with the scar on her chest which was definitely a powerful piece. The piece with the soldiers juxtaposing against the children living in the home reminded me of one of my favorite shots of the Vancouver riot kissing couple. And the New York City shots are always interesting. They gave light to an environment we are so used to. Overall however the gallery wasn’t exactly the greatest art I’ve come across, even simply in the field of photography. I personally was not captivated by the photographs; however, I respect the artists and their art form.

Enrichment workshop
I think the enrichment workshop experience was very boring. As someone who had never been to an art gallery, my first experience in the art gallery was not that excited. I don’t really enjoy art first of all, and most of the arts in the gallery failed to captivate my mind. I can’t really recall any specific art piece I saw. Although I forgot the photos, I still remember the lady told us that every piece of art represents a deep meaning behind it.

Enrichment Workshop
For the enrichment workshop, we went to a gallery on 10/10. Although it was kind of boring, i think it’s quite meaningful. The gallery divided into three sections; history, sociology, and art. The most impressive photo was the girl with a burn mark on her chest and I think that photo showed a child soldier in Sierra Leone. It was really frustrated to see a child got torture. I also saw a photo that was taken during a wartime. The women were helpless and it was messy everywhere. Moreover, the images on the sociology section shows discrimination in American history. It was good to see the aspects of the society and art.

The Enrichment Workshop post
The enrichment workshop we went on last Thursday was boring. I don’t understand the kind of art that the authors were trying to make. Most of the photos are black and white, I only saw maybe two color photos, which irritated me. I don’t like black and white photos. However, there are some really power photos such as the photos about burn marks on a girl’s chest. I don’t remember what the burn mark said, but it’s about the group that tortured her. That make me angry too. Lastly, it’s nice to know that such a place exist on our campus. Maybe I will go again when they update the photos or add something new.

Thursday’s visit at Gallery
This past Thursday, I went with my fellow classmates from my Freshman Seminar Class, at the gallery of Baruch College on 22nd street. To be honest, I did not enjoy it at all, because I am not the kind of guy who likes to watch and spend his time by watching different pictures. Some of them had a great meaning, because they were about some serious issues. Some of them had to do with slavery, torturing, some of them, were about wars, some others were about the crisis, poverty and other serious issues and events that took place in the USA particularly in New York City like the 9/11. I still remember the one that was a black woman and her chest was scratched due to the torturing. There was also a picture with a lot of New Yorkers at the streets when it was the “depression.” At the gallery there was a picture that symbolized the 9/11, I thought that it was something totally different I could never imagined that it was related with 9/11 attack. Some of those pictures were interesting and some others were weird, like the half naked woman, which I do not remember exactly what that picture symbolized but I still remember it. Also, the other picture with a couple of girls that were laid, the picture was showing their butts, the woman there explained to us the meaning, but I forgot it. Honestly, the pictures took my attention, even though I am not the type of guy who will spend his time on a gallery. It was interesting but I did not enjoy it much. I would suggest to people that are interested into this artistic stuff to go and check it because I believe that it worths, especially if you like the world of arts.

I chose these ten songs because it says a lot about me. It tells a story if you listen closely. And if you really know me you’d know it tells some of my darkest secrets. I’m not saying every lyric says something about my life but the vibes from these songs from beginning to end in that order can help you to get to know me.
