Rubin Museum

My experience to the Rubin Museum of Art was actually unexciting and disappointing. The Museum displayed art of the Himalayans and its surrounding regions, the biggest reason for why it was a disappointment was because I believed this trip was a huge waste of time. Personally, my interests do not lie in art. The art displayed had nothing to do with my culture, not that I mind learning about other cultures but I just feel like an event like this should not be mandatory. I was already hating the experience from the long walk there, by the time I got there I was exactly in a pleasant mood, my mood led to having a terrible experience as nothing seemed interesting. My upcoming psychology midterm was on the back of my head, I was unable to focus on any of the exhibits. I was hungry before the walk to the museum, overall I wished it was not mandatory, the trip there did not improve my cultural knowledge.

The trip to the Rubin Museum would have been a lot more interesting had it not been a requirement. I like to explore museums on my own time and this museum seemed very interesting had I not been with a group of people. It’s hard to enjoy a museum when a group of people are talking around you. However, from what I did see or was able to see the museum was pertaining to my culture and I really wanted to see some of the artwork. The mimicked Buddhist temple was very interesting and I’ve never seen such an intricate temple before. Some of the artwork you were able to pick up and see which is really rare in a museum and I’m really happy I was able to discover this museum. I’d like to return to the museum but on my own time.

Rubin Museum of Art

Our trip to the Robin Museum of Art was an educational and emotional one. The building created an immersive atmosphere with its use of lighting and the layout of the floors. Walking through the galleries makes one forget they were just walking the busy streets of New York City. The museum featured galleries of breathtaking Buddhist art. One particular room that was especially memorable was the room that had a single artwork that filled that surrounding walls. While it did not serve as an eye opener for me as I am familiar with Buddhism, it did expand my knowledge of the culture. It was fascinating to view these Buddhist art as it shows how diverse New York is.

Rubin Museum

Our trip to the Rubin Museum was less educational than I thought it would be. Since we didn’t have a tour guide we did not get to experience the museum as a whole, and we could not experience all it has to offer. From what I saw, just by looking around, the museum is something that probably could have been extremely interesting, however, it’s a museum that definitely needs someone who is knowledgeable of what’s there to show you around and explain everything to you. The artifacts were extremely beautiful and very cool to look at, though, which is why I would definitely go back there just to fully grasp everything inside. Overall, it was not the greatest experience, but something I did appreciate because now I have been introduced to a new, educational place.

Trip to Rubin Museum

To be completely honest, the trip to the Rubin Museum was un-educational and a complete waste of time. We didn’t have a tour guide, and nothing was explained to us. It was also scheduled right before our psychology test on a day where we also had a math midterm. In a class thats supposed to be there to help you, this scheduling did nothing but hurt. If we’re going to visit a museum, especially on a day when the entire class has two tests, it should be done right. If i spoke about how I enjoyed the trip and thought it was educational I would be lying. However, I did enjoy how the artifacts looked despite not knowing much about them. The museum is also architecturally brilliant.

Rubin Museum Trip

We went as a class to the Rubin Museum and  explored  Tibetan Art. The museum is very modern and carries many art pieces. An art piece that caught my eye was the “Base with Lions.” The “Base with Lions” is the oldest piece of art that the museum carries. Ontop of the piece was where Buddah was supposed to sit. However, he’s not there. Tibetan Art revolves around Buddhism and Tibetan art.

Trip to Rubin Musuem

The trip is the Rubin museum was a learning experience. It was a spiritual journey and I thought that I was really cool that our freshman seminar class could go.  in the duration of the class trip, I really during about the different cultures of Buddhism. The thing tha. Interested me the most was the spiritual room in the museum. It was like a psuedo temple with the artifacts and statues of different gods. There was also a lady, who I think was meditating. She seemed very in touch with the environment.

As a Buddhist, I felt as thought I really learned a lot about my religion and it’s very similar to the temple that I go to.
