Well Hey LC08!

I just want to start off by saying this first month or so with you guys has been great and I’m really enjoying myself. From what I’ve heard we seem to be the only learning community that actually talks to each other outside of freshman seminar. Sad 🙁

But anyways, to express who I think I am to the class, I chose to make a playlist. Music is what seems to help me get through just about everything, so why not choose that. In all honesty, most of my songs are smooth, mellow or gentle, except for the last one. That doesn’t really portray who I am on the outside. I’m a little awkward, clumsy, and aggressive. I probably come off mean sometimes. Or maybe not because some of you told me I was funny. Which is weird because I don’t try, but I appreciate it. I appreciate that you find my reactions to a certain level of being uncomfortable funny. HardyHar.

Well back to the playlist. Although I may come off a certain way on the outside, I want my playlist to show I’m a fun, loving, non-judgmental, mellow kind of gal. If you’re having some problems that you want to talk about, feel free to come to me( I don’t mean just anything.. and I said talk…I’m not gonna be beating anyone down or being thrown in the midst of drama O_O but if you just wanna let it out.. sure)  Or you’re just looking for a laugh or some company, I can help with that too.

All in all, I’m having a lot of fun getting to know you guys.. although I don’t really know all of you the way I want to.. besides by your first names. But.. It is my mission to change that!! And I will!! So you know.. talk to me.. help me out a bit… And enjoy my playlist 😀

Hopefully this list gives you an insight into who I am. I have enjoyed my time at Baruch so far. The memories I have made so far are ones I will always remember. I also greatly enjoy the time I spend with my block mates who are awesome people. I can only hope that things will continue to get better from here on out.

1. This image describes me because I am currently a part of a Pop-Punk band called “Makeshift” as the rhythm guitar player. The model of this guitar is a Fender Blacktop HH and is the model that I currently use when we play live.

2. This image describes me because I used to love to skateboard. When I was younger I spent every minute of my free time on a skateboard trying to learn new tricks and better my skills.

3. This picture describes me because in high school I was the drum captain of my school’s marching band. I have been a percussionist since the 4th grade and have been going strong ever since.

4. This picture describes me because my favorite thing in the world is playing my band’s music to people. It is an amazing feeling seeing people sing back the words that you wrote and enjoy the songs that you put your heart and soul into.

5. This picture describes me because this past February I was able to achieve my life long dream of being featured on a studio recorded release. This is the cover photo of my band’s debut EP entitled “Listen Close.”

6. This picture describes me because my friends mean everything to me. Without them I would not be ther person that I am today. They’re always there to cheer me up in times when I’m feeling down and I will never be able to thank them enough for that.

7. This picture describes my life because I have been a percussionist since the 4th grade and have been taking private drum lessons since 7th grade.

8. This picture describes my life because blink-182 has been my favorite band for as long as I can remember. Music obviously has had a huge impact on my life and blink-182 is the reason why I decided that I wanted to play music. Also, the first concert that I ever attended was blink-182 at Jones Beach.

By looking at this photo you guys can see that I am a decent drawer but it’s not really a major interest of mine. But it does look good….doesn’t it?

Now recently I have became somewhat of a fitness geek. Since I was overweight and now am underweight, I needed to learn about what the hell I should do with my nutritional habits. So I started cooking for myself because we all no buying food is most likely the healthiest method of eating. So I promise, in a couple years, I’m gonna be SWOLE AND MAKING GAINS!!!

I’m not that big on hairstyles anymore. I have tried waves. I have texturized my hair and curled up my hair, and then I got this Fauxhawk/Mohawk (whatever that is). However, I realized, I LOOK GOOD W/ NAPPY HAIR! So now I just appreciate the nappyness of my naps LML.  I’m Happy To Be Nappy 🙂

This was a picture I wrote and posted on my Instagram a few months ago because I realized being a pious virgin young teenager is not easy. I kept seeing a WHOLE LOT of SINFUL pictures of girls revealing themselves and then I just had to say something. Obviously no one listened so, I deleted my IG. 🙂

Self-Explanatory. And by the way I am PROUD OF MYSELF! HOORAY FOR VIRGINITAYY!

If anyone knows soccer, they should know A.C. MILAN. My favorite team. Even though they aren’t the best team recently, I love ’em dearly.

Now when it comes to basketball, the NEW YORK KNICKERBOCKERS, are the best team on the planet! Or maybe only in my life but I’ve been a knicks fan since I ever started watching TV. Late ’90s-ish.

NO ONE LAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now as you can see, I wasn’t the best looking guy. I was short, chubby and ugly. However, now I’m long, bony and I don’t know…handsome? IDK but I have come a long way but now I need these muscles to develop and they will in the future.

hello! my name is judy la but as you all know i prefer being called jordan. i decided to post a video because i thought at first i’d have time to film a new video but it didn’t quite turn out the way i wanted (i have work on weekends). this is just a short video of some clips from a few of my old dance cover videos.

i don’t know if any of you listen to kpop or even know what it is but all my dance covers are kpop dance covers. people ask me why i listen to songs i can’t understand but who says i can’t understand them? i listen to songs from many languages because i don’t just listen to the words, i listen to the music. you know what they say. music is the universal language.

i don’t know how much of me you’ll get from this video so i guess i can just break it down for you a little. i love to dance (if it isn’t already obvious). i’m not very good at it but i enjoy dancing and performing nonetheless. i’m comfortable in front of the camera and behind it as well. i’m probably one of the most talkative people you’ll ever meet if you decide you can manage a conversation with me. however, that doesn’t really show much when i’m in an uncomfortable or unfamiliar place (/cough baruch). hopefully, though, i’ll come to be comfortable with this new environment and all of you new, lovely people.

Hey guys! This past month has been awesome and it has been a pleasure getting to know you guys. I can honestly say I am so happy to be a part of LC08.

So here is a little bit about myself!

1. This is a picture of the South African flag. For those who don’t know I am of Indian descent but I was born in Durban, South Africa, and lived there for about 4 years. Thankfully I was born after the apartheid, so I have never experienced any of the racial issues my parents and grandparents endured.

2. This is a picture I took in Emirates Stadium over the summer. This is Arsenal’s home stadium. Arsenal is       part of the Barclays (English) Premier League and also my favorite team! Watching soccer matches is definitely one of my favorite hobbies and I’m hoping to go to a professional match soon.

3. The next picture is of my church, El Bethel. Church is a HUGE part of my life, not only because I am a Christian but because my father is the pastor. I am always helping out in different ways. I can honestly say that I love going to church and being a Christian. El Bethel is not like a typical church, I believe it proves the stereotype that  church is boring to be wrong.

4. This is a picture I took over the summer during my visit to Mijas, Spain. Mijas is part of an area known as Malaga, which is located on the coast of Spain. I fell in love with this incredible city. I hope to move there one day and do non profit work.

5. Unlike most teenage girls, I prefer tea to coffee. Most of my mornings start off with tea, so it is definitely an important part of my average day. My favorite  is English breakfast tea.

6. This picture is of my high school, Michael J. Petrides. This school holds a special place in my heart, not because of all the memories I made there but because it is the only school I have been at for the entire duration. Due to all the moving I have done, Petrides was the 10th school I attended.

7. Traveling has always been a huge part of my life and one of my favorite things to do. As fun as road trips are, for me, nothing compares to hoping on a plane and immersing oneself in a new culture. So far out of all the countries I have been to Spain has been my favorite. I hope one day to be able to go to Romania and Germany. I absolutely love sightseeing and learning about the different places this world has to offer me.

8. This picture is of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. I have always had a thing for cars which I think definitely comes from my mom’s side of the family; my grandpa owed a car dealership and my cousin races formula 4. The F12 Berlinetta is my favorite car, so here it is!

Hi LC08!

I just wanted to say it has been a pleasure getting to know you guys and only after a few weeks of school I can already tell how awesome you all are. I cannot wait to spend the rest of the semester with you guys!  Anyways, I created a 10-song playlist, which I feel describes me the most.

So #1, I chose this song because I grew up in a strong Christian family and I am so proud of that and proud to say that God is number one in my life!

Next #2, my family means more than the world to me. They’re the ones that I can always trust and always lean on in times of need.

#3, I chose this song because I L.O.V.E the Backstreet Boys. They are and will always be my favorite band in the whole world.

#4, my friends mean so much to me. I’m so glad to say that all my friends have been a positive influence in my life.

#5, horses are my favorite animals. My plan in life is to make enough money and own a stable with hundreds of horses. (I doubt that will happen).

#6, purple is my favorite color and if you haven’t noticed, everything I own has a splash of purple.

#7, I chose this song because I love Italian food and Italy itself. I traveled there 2 years ago, and I loved it! And I’m waiting for the day when I can go back.

Everyone is prideful about where they were born and raised and so am I! So that is why #9, “Empire State of Mind” fits me perfectly.

Hi guys,

This is by far the worst homework assignment i have ever been assigned to.  But school is school and since I wanna pass this class I gotta pretend like I love it.

I chose 10 songs by the Beatles. They are all one would need to hear in order to understand what the fabric of my life consists of.  Though I have tendencies to be over-dramatic if not obnoxious at times, my inner person is full of calmness and peace. Drugs are nothing compared to what beautiful music and love can do for me, I learned that through experiences ( both good and bad). I love people and I love the nature people. I will never let a girl stand on a train as I will always offer her a seat. I will always hold the door, and I will always say thank you. Simple manners like that have been doing miracles for me. The Beatles have inspired to me to have a positive outlook on life. Their music is my gateway to understand how to deal with tough problems. That is, relax, think about it, and take action; As opposed to dwell on the problem.

I love you guys and hopefully we can make this boring class into something greater.
