FRO Review

My overall experience in FRO was pretty positive. It was helpful and informative regarding the transition from high school to college. Without having this class at the beginning of the semester I would have been very confused as to how college works. The part that I found the most helpful was when we had to create our new schedules for the new semester. I was able to understand which classes that I would need to take for my major and the necessary classes that I would have to take in order to graduate.

It is great that we are given similar blocks this semester because we are able to help each other and help our transition be smoother. Both Ms. Lancia and Namit were very helpful with clearly answering any questions about Baruch. This was a very informing class regarding the school and how everything works which I felt was beneficial to us as first semester freshman.

Leadership Workshop

We attended a leadership workshop as part of our learning community last week. The exercises were pretty dull and boring. I could relate to the students  better than the leaders in the presentation. This workshop had somehow motivated me to attend more clubs and become more involved in things at school rather than just attending class and leaving. One of the leaders was from New Jersey and she still had the time to go to activities afterschool even though she gets home really late. This was very admirable and I feel like that she has a lot of determination. I’ll look into more clubs as my time in Baruch grows. Clubs are great ways in order to meet new people and become a better leader in the future. These roles in clubs and other after school activities are the things that you will remember after graduation. To be a good leader you have to be able to step up and become a voice for your followers. Going to this workshop helped me understand what some qualities of a leader are. In order for me to be a leader, I need to find something that I’m passionate in and actually am willing to work hard for this. In order to find someplace like this, I would have to research and go to many difficult clubs to see where I think I would fit in the best. I could also join other things other than clubs like Team Baruch, the PAWS program or other different positions throughout campus. If I were to be a part of Team Baruch I could help incoming students adjusting to their school and act as a leader to them. By doing so, I could enhance my skills as a leader and make sure that others can also become leaders after my guidance.  Overall, the workshop  helped broaden my horizons and think of other ways to become a leader as a student as Baruch College.

Hey guys! 🙂 I love listening to all types of music and it was so difficult to pick only 10 songs to represent who I am. Hope you enjoy these songs!

-“Smile” by Ed Sheeran: this song always reminds me to always think of the positive in situations although sometimes its difficult to.

– “Home” by Michael Bublé: having place that will always be open to you is a great feeling– theres no place like home! 🙂

-“Paradise” by Coldplay: this song is just perfect, everything about it I think is amazing and it makes me feel happy.

-“Banana Pancakes” by Jack Johnson: this showcases the simple things in life in which I believe are the most important.

-“Never Grow Up” by Taylor Swift: the idea of growing up is something that’s happening to all of us which is a scary but exciting experience!

-“Who You Are” by Jessie J: this reminds me to always be myself and be original.

-“Cough Syrup” by Young the Giant: the opening line to this song (“life’s too short to even care at all”) is a motto that I live by and it reminds me to take risks sometimes

-“This is the Life” by Two Door Cinema Club: this song reminds me to let loose and enjoy life.

-“Cousins” by Vampire Weekend: this song is super catchy and watching its movie video always puts a smile to my face.

-“I Am Not a Robot” by Marina and the Diamonds: i am my own person and nobody could change that.
