Who’s Bin Bin

http://www.kizoa.com/slideshow-maker/d13520302k9138019o1/lc09

Hi, it’s Bin Bin again. I decided to make a slideshow of my favorite things and not so favorite. First off, I’ll start with South Park. South Park has to be my favorite show of all time. I’ve probably saw every episode at least 5 times already. I just can never get enough of the show. This Wednesday will be exciting as a new season is coming up. The second slide is Manchester United, my favorite soccer team. I’ve been a fan for a long time but only recently able to catch every match due to the free schedule of college which kind of sucks since the team lost a lot lately. I hope the new manager can bring another two decades of endless Champions League. The third photo of my slide is Christopher Nolan movies. Whenever a new Christopher Nolan movie comes out, my friends and me would go to the theater as soon as possible to watch his new masterpiece. The fourth slide is kind of a dream of mine ever since I found out about these adorable creatures. Some day, I wish to own one and be able to take care of it. After that comes the picture of the N train which I’ve been taking since my freshman year of high school. I am still taking the train almost everyday and expect to for the next three or so years. It has its ups and downs but its my only mode of transportation to school so I can’t complain. The next picture is the Horse-Head Nebula which I chose since I love outer space. I enjoy learning and seeing pictures of space, especially the fascinating formations and the ever changing nature of space. When I get my first job, I hope to buy a nice telescope and look at these places with it. Then, we have the bed which simply means I enjoy sleeping. During high-school, I used to sleep a good amount of 7-8 hours of sleep, then sleep on the train. After that I would either sleep in History/English class. When I get home from school or hanging out with friends, I would take a long nap. Lastly, the picture of the mosquito might be a little bit disturbing but I can’t help being attracted by mosquitoes. I would constantly get attacked by them in my sleep. We don’t really get them around the house but they do get in once in a while. I like sleeping without my shirt on during the summer and I would wake up to a whole bunch of mosquito bites. Sometimes I even wake up in the middle of the night falling a sleep and scratching at the same time. I would then question red spots and scratched skin in the morning.

Who’s Gagandeep?

I decided to make a slideshow to showcase the people, events, and things in my life that have had a huge impact on me and make me who I am.

To start off my slideshow I decided to give you guys a little bit of background information on the schools I have attended. My first slide is a collage of the 3 schools I went to. I went to two public schools between kindergarten and eight grade. When it was time for high school, my parents really wanted to put me in a private school. This was a big change for me and shows how I was able to adjust to all these changes. I had to make myself comfortable wherever I went. My second slide is also a collage. I am a commuter to Baruch and ever since high school the train has been my source of travel. I also have to walk quite a bit to get to the train station. I really wanted a slide that described what my culture and heritage consisted of so I decided to put a couple of pictures of that.  From color to drama my culture has it all. I was born into a Sikh family and I honestly am very proud of my religion. My parents were both born in the city in India so they have always been very open-minded and thoughtful. They honestly are the reason why I am here today. My mom is my support and my confidant. She can sense when something is wrong and she will always help me in my time of need. My dad is my inspiration and my source of drive. Seeing him work so hard to get to where he is now has made me proud. I get my honesty and loyalty from them. My brother is four years older. We are extremely close and we can share things with each other that we might not be able to tell our parents. We both love watching comedy and horror movies and TV shows together. My friends and family are the biggest support for me. My best friends, Almeet, Pardeep, and Katherine are like the sisters I never had. They always teach me to love myself. My friends are the biggest motivators and I am the luckiest person to have them in my life. They accept me for who I am. I look up to my older group of friends because they are smart and dedicated. They never make me feel like the youngest in the group and have taught me to be more independent. My family is so huge that I can’t even list all of my cousins, aunts and uncles. I can be outside with my family and meet a relative of the family I didn’t even know existed. My closest relatives are my mom’s sister’s family. They have been a constant part of my life and always tell me to strive for the best and be good at what I do.

I love roller coasters, speed and heights. I love the adrenaline I get. I want to go sky diving, bungee jumping and zip lining. I think this relates to the times when I can be carefree and live life. I also love traveling. My favorite part is actually the plane ride. I know so many people that hate airplane rides and they look at me like I’m crazy. I want to travel to Europe if I ever get the chance. I have been to India a countless number of times for vacation and I honestly love it. It is so different from here. I have lots of family there so it’s nice to see them.  I have relatives all over the world so it’s neat to go somewhere new and meet them.

Well that’s about it for now, I’m looking forward to learning more about you guys!

Who’s Matthew?

Hi LC09, I have decided to make a slideshow to let you guys know a little bit more about myself.

https://plus.google.com/photos/105409478337440417060/albums/6062015396408893425?authkey=CLnk7trxhcGmjgE

The first slide that I included was one of my family. My family is extremely important to me and I could not imagine my life without them. My sister and I are very close. We spend a lot of time with each other and she is always there for me whenever I need her. My parents are very supportive in all that I try to accomplish. My dad is the most hardworking person I know and I always go to him for help. My mom is very caring and always has my best interest in mind. Although my great-grandma passed away a few months ago, she was one of the most loving people I know and would always put everyone else before herself. She was super excited to find out that I would be attending Baruch. My next slide is about my dog Nikki. She is a Shih-Tzu/Maltese mix. Having wanted a dog all my life, finally getting her in the sixth grade was a huge surprise. She is crazy and playful at times, but can also be calm and relaxed at other times. My third slide is of my friends and I. I have been friends with my friends in the pictures for many years, one since first grade. We all go to college close to home so we are able to hang out whenever possible. My next slide is of my daily commute. My elementary, middle, and high school were all located within 5 minutes of my house so having a long commute has taken some getting used to. I have to first take the LIRR for about an hour to penn and then take the 1,N, or R subway to Baruch. While I was hesitant about the commute at first, I have grown to enjoy it and get a lot of work done while on the train. My fifth slide is revolved around the NY Jets. We have been Jet season ticket holders for over 30 years. My dad, sister, uncle, family friends, and I would all get to the stadium early and tailgate. We would set up 2 grills and cook different kinds of food such as steak, hamburgers, and hotdogs. My next slide is of a Blue October concert that I have recently attended. They are my all time favorite band and I can listen to them for hours. Going to concerts is an activity that I recently started doing more often and I look forward to going to more in the future. My seventh slide is of various locations in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Most people know this as the Amish Country. This has been my families favorite vacation spot which we try to visit yearly. Some of my favorite childhood memories come out of these vacations. My last slide is of my sister and I on two different roller coasters. I love to go to amusement parks and do other thrilling activities.

10 Songs That Rep Sharon

https://play.spotify.com/user/12155768508/playlist/56vpU3bR8WWUEKU1FFiJZU

I actually had trouble searching for songs that represented or had significance to me. But I pulled through, after searching through my 1600+ Youtube playlist of songs LOL. I chose to do a song playlist because music has had a major influence on my mood and personality.

So first up, I chose ‘Enigma’ by Veigar Margeirsson. After my first listening of this song, I had been inexplicably and emotionally moved. Never has any piece of music taken me through a fleshed out journey full of experiences and feelings that only pertained to me. I have placed it first on the playlist because it is definitely my favorite song. Next, I chose ‘He’s a Pirate’ by Klaus Badelt. It is a song that I listen to when I’m lacking motivation and determination. Third, I chose ‘No Light, No Light’ by Florence + The Machine because its lyrics vaguely applied to me. It’s about how someone made a mistake and couldn’t keep his/her significant other from slipping away from them. In parallel, I have let many opportunities get away because of my shy personality. I chose ‘Bring Me to Life’ by Evanescence next because I don’t think I’m actually living my life to its fullest. Or, as Nicki Minaj said, “But to live, doesn’t mean you’re alive.” As corny as it sounds, I am waiting for someone to lift me off from the dusty floor and waltz me around my life. Fifth, I chose ‘Angels’ by The xx. It is a somber, yet powerful song that represents the hopeless romantic that I am. Next, I chose ‘Fairy Dance’ by James Newton Howard. It is full of hope, curiosity, and wonder, but it also hints of slight melancholy near the end. Also, ‘fairy’ was the closest term I could link to my love for fantasy. For the next song, I chose ‘King and Lionheart’ by Of Monsters and Men. It represents my fierce devotion to those I truly care about. I am selfish most of the time, but there are certain people I would swim the Pacific for (I don’t know how to swim). I blanked out after this, so I decided to meet the 10-song quota by adding 3 random rave/EDM songs (‘Bad’ by David Guetta & Showtek ft. Vassy, ‘SMASH!’ by Ummet Ozcan, and ‘Hero’ by Pegboard Nerds ft. Elizaveta). EDM (Electronic Dance Music) is currently my favorite genre of music. Sadly, I have not attended a rave yet, but I am planning to in 2015!

Music is what I turn to for comfort that no embrace can compare to. Music is a release for my bottled emotions. It soothes me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, so I probably won’t be denying its magnitude anytime soon. :3

Hello all, I decided to create a ten song musical playlist on Spotify for Blog Post One. I am going to split this into two paragraphs because the first five songs are what influenced me to start listening to a lot of music and the last five I discovered on my own throughout the years of listening to music everyday.

The first five songs I chose are ones most of us have heard of. A majority of our parents grew up listening to classic rock because of the time period they were born in. Music is huge throughout my entire family. My parents inspired me to have a taste of what they grew up with. Every Sunday when I was younger until today, my Dad would play the stereo on full blast from afternoon until night. I say my Dad and not my Mom because she had a little different taste in music, but none the less no one would complain. The Likes of the Doobie Brothers, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen, and Kiss flowed through my ear drums. As a kid, I would jump around the living room dancing like a maniac. The problem was this would only happen on Sundays because both of my parents worked, and they were too tired after work to start listening to music. The music we listened to would be too energetic to play after a long, tiring, work filled day.  This is when I was determined to get a stereo system in my room. I will never forget the day that happened. My Dad bought himself a new stereo, thus I got his old monster set in my room which would not only play CD’s and Cassettes but also vinyl records. I like to call this the beginning of a beautiful relationship with music because I could listen to it whenever I wanted. I could even ask my parents to get me my own CD’s that my Dad did not have available.

The last five songs I chose I discovered on my own. As I grew older, I would continue to listen to the classics but enjoyed listening to anything that sounded good. I will listen to any genre except Country. Thankfully, the majority of people I have become friends with enjoy the same beats. A typical weekend for me and my friends would be to cruise around with the windows down listening to music on our way to no destination in particular.  Music has made me enjoy the little things in life. I have learned that I can be happy doing anything as long as I have my music with me. Till the day that I die, I will never stop listening to music. It has had too much of an impact on me to just not be there anymore.

Who’s Abdulah?

Hey LC 09! I decided to make a slideshow for you guys with the people, places and things that mean the most to me.

http://www.kizoa.com/Video-Maker/d13293594k3029693o1/moments-in-the-life-of-abdulah

I’m an Aquarius. I was born on February 9, 1996. My father and mother were immigrants from Montenegro, a state of the former Yugoslavia, but now they both are citizens of the United States. Their struggle and ambition to succeed and create opportunities from nothing is what motivates me everyday in life. My father, a hard-worker, is a great individual who influenced strength and loyalty as a part of my personality as I was young child. My mother plays as a coach to my life to this day. Intelligence, kindness, sensitivity, and most of the things that I have learned are through her experience and knowledge. My parents helped set the foundation for me as an individual in order to become the person I am today. My siblings and friends are the greatest young group of kids to be around. My sister is my backbone and support. Whatever I choose to do, I can count on her to cheer me on through everything. My little brother is the man! If you want to see a younger version of me, he is that guy. I can have a conversation with my brother that varies from sports to politics and nerdy stuff. We even engage in the same sports and other activities. My other “brothers” are one of the closest group of friends that I have because they have my back with anything and everything. Our relationship with one another is very unique because not only have we known each other for a long time, but also it works both ways with love, strength and humor. Whenever we hang out, it’s never a dull moment. They showed me the greatest things about life and how it isn’t always about serious stuff and making a lot of money. Life is valuable through achieving happiness, and with my parents, siblings, and “brothers” I feel as though they lighten up my life to a whole new level.

If you know me well enough you will know that I am into cars and sports more than anything else. Mercedes-Benz has always been an obsession of mine growing up. When my father purchased a Mercedes-Benz GL350 in 2010, it stimulated my obsession even more. Like, “wow we have a Mercedes-Benz now.” It was amazing! Now my father bought me a Mercedes-Benz ML350 in April, 2014. That was the greatest day of my life so far! Going to the dealership and having the people at Silver Star Motors already know who I was, then being escorted to see my car, and finally driving it home. It was a good day to be, I guess. Although I have an amazing car, that I am immensely grateful for, I feel that my obsession can’t ever be satisfied. My dream car is a Mercedes-Benz CLS550. However, by dream car I don’t look at that as a finish line. The day I purchase a CLS550 is only a checkpoint to greater and better things. I set myself goals that I hopefully will achieve one day, and one of them is purchasing the CLS550. Basketball has been influential to my health because I was a fat child growing up. The love of the game developed over time through constant practice and the will to get better as a player. During my high school years, I was part of my varsity team and became captain during my senior year. The basketball team was a family. We traveled everywhere together, shared great moments of victory and hard times of losses as a unite and continued to fight on. We achieved many great things during the regular season as a team and I wouldn’t trade my teammates for anyone else. Every season had it’s own story with these guys, and I cherished every single one of it. Although it may sound cliche, being part of the basketball team really taught me to be unselfish and look out for the well-being of others. We had a common goal to win and that stayed as our goal throughout the games, practice and meetings. Basketball always has and always will be a part of me.

Two places that are the most sentimental for me are Montenegro and New York City. These two different areas in the world influenced me incredibly to become very diverse, cultural, and open-minded as an individual. I travel to Montenegro every summer for 1-2 months and have lived in New York City since day one. The amazing part of traveling and visiting another country is the idea and experience that there is a world that exists outside of the streets of NYC. My family in Montenegro lives mostly in the farmland areas, so spending time in places that are the complete opposite to that of New York City is truly impacting on the way I view society as a whole and understand the lives of others who are not as fortunate as I am. Every person, place, and thing in my life influenced me to be a humble individual.

Who Is Brianna ?

Hello LC 09, I chose to do the picture slideshow to show you guys a little bit about who I am. For most of my characteristics I couldn’t chose one picture, so I made collages.

http://www.kizoa.com/slideshow-maker/d13258119k1024759o1/who-is-brianna-

First, I think I am a hardworking student; I put 3 pictures of all of the schools I have been to in my life. I have went to catholic school my whole life, Baruch is the first public school I have been to. My next slide has pictures of the transportation methods I use everyday to get to Baruch, because I am a commuter. The worst part of my computer by far is the Q38, which comes every 25-30 minutes, and if you take the bus really early the bus usually passes you up because it is jam-packed. My next slide has pictures of my parents and I throughout the years. I am the proud daughter of the two most wonderful people on the face of this earth. My parents have worked so hard their whole lives to give me the best life I could ever imagine. I have a very special relationship with my parents, because I am an only child. My mom is my best friend, we tell each other everything, and I don’t know what I’d do without her. My dad is my partner in crime, and we joke around 24/7. My next slide has a collection of pictures of my job and people at my job. I am a bookkeeper at Met Food supermarket on Eliot Avenue in Middle Village. I have made so many friends there, that I couldn’t imagine my life without. I consider myself a hard worker, even though some of the pictures of my co-workers and myself are of us joking around at work. I have been there for two and a half years now, and I think of myself as a vital asset to Met Food. My next slide has a collage of pictures of one of the most important people in my life, my boyfriend Phil. I am a very loving, caring, and loyal person. We will be dating 3 years on September 23rd. We do everything together, and he is practically a part of my family already. My next slide has pictures of my dog, Zac. I am the proud owner of a 5-year-old cavachon (half Bichon Frise half King Charles Cavalier). My parents bought him for me, and he traveled all the way from a breeder in Arizona to get to me. I play with Zac everyday, and I think of him as a little brother, since I don’t have any siblings. Even though Zac was supposed to be my dog, he grew a special attachment to my mom. My next slide is a collage of pictures of my two best friends and I. My best friends names are Sabreena and Kimberly. I have known Kimberly since we were in nursery school, we became close in high school though. This is the first school I am going to without her, she goes to Florida Southern College. I met Sabreena my first day at Molloy and it was as if we knew each other our whole life. She goes to Adelphi University, so I still get to see her whenever we have time in between work and school. I talk to them both daily and think of them as my sisters. My last slide is probably the most important to me, my family. I am a very family oriented person and speak to my family members everyday. I am very close to everyone in my family, I only put pictures of some members of my family, because I have a very big Italian family and there was no way I could have included everyone.

Thank you for reading and watching LC 09, I can’t wait to learn more about each and every one of you.
