Student Life: UCLA

I had a lot of fun at the UCLA (United Chinese Language Association) club! I attended their second general interest meeting and I had a great time. My first impression of the club was that it was super crowded because a lot of people attended, but the members did a great job at organizing the crowd, so it didn’t feel that clustered. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first at the general interest meeting because it was my first time attending one. The members of the club were very attentive because they introduced themselves and greeted everyone individually and I feel like that takes a lot of courage to do too.

I felt pretty comfortable at the club too because a few people there went to my high school, Midwood High School. In the club, the room was divided into 2 teams, Team 1 and Team 2. The two teams had to battle against each other in consecutive ice breaker games.  Each time had to choose a representative to decide what each team answered. So we played Google Feud for our first ice breaker and I was in Team 1. Google Feud was basically finishing a sentence and if it corresponded with the top 10 most searched, you get points for it. The second game we played was called zoomed in and the game was exactly what it sounded like. Zoomed in pictures were shown and each team had to guess what the picture was.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed both of the ice breakers. We all shared laughs, whether it was finding out that most of the answers for a question in Google Feud was about Trump or finding out that a zoomed in picture that resembled a Pokemon was actually the sleeve of Snow White. I had a great time at the meeting and I’ll be sure to attend more of their events!

I’m circled in pink. 😀
