Major/minors fair

I didn’t know where to go for this last part of my freshman blog. I knew I needed to find something quick, but I didn’t know what. It wasn’t until last week when I got an email from student life about the major and minors fair. I knew this would be to perfect opportunity to finish my freshman blog, and on top of that, learn about my major and minor. I already had a major in mind, but not a minor. The multicultural room was packed when I arrived at the event. I recognized a lot of people there as freshman and realized that they were probably there for the same reason as me. At the fair, I went straight to the math department. This is because I am interested in pursuing a career in mathematics, mainly the actuarial science field. As I approached the table, I saw one of the advisors that I was trying to get in contact with, but couldn’t because he was always so busy. I thought this was the perfect time to ask him questions that I had without having to wait afterschool for five hours to speak to him. This was probably the highlight of the whole event because he helped me realize what I needed to do and what classes I needed to take. I honestly think I found the loophole to the college advisor situation. Anyways, I’m really happy I went to this event because I now have a pretty good idea of what my major is going to be. It would have been very difficult to find the information I found at the fair if I didn’t attend. I would recommend anyone who doesn’t know about his/her major to attend a fair such as this one. I’m sure many who were at the event were clueless about their major or minor. The fair probably helped them realize what their major or minor will be.
