The Metropolitan Museum of Art

This weekend my friend and I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was my first time at the museum and everyone has been telling me how great it is so I figured I would check it out myself. It is surprising how many places in NYC offer discounts with a CUNY ID, and although the Met is technically ‘free’ we both made a $5 donation. I am not really an art museum type of person, however, when I entered the building I was amazed. The tour of the exhibits took us all around the world. The Met has artifacts from all around and it was really intriguing to see how those pieces of art differed from one another. From ancient sculptures to modern works of art, the Met has a variety of artwork to offer. We sat in this really pretty room in the middle of the building for about an hour just admiring the framework of the building. It was like the outside of the building but inside.

Going to the Met, or any other museum in the city, is a great experience, even for someone who has lived in the city for their whole life. Like I said earlier, this was my first time going. And going to a new school allowed me to open up to new experiences more easily. With Baruch being in the city, there are still so many things I have not done and places I have not been to. I am glad I can check the Met off that list now.

After we finished exploring what seemed like a maze, we sat down on the famous steps in front of the building and reminisced about the times we used to see the cast of Gossip Girl sitting on the same steps we were sitting on.
