Academic – American Museum of Natural History

For this blog post, I’ve decided to write about my recent venture to the American Museum of Natural History. I went with my roommate and our friend Kaylee that also lives in the dorms.

I was really excited to go because I had heard about the new exhibit of the mummies and I really wanted to see them. This was also my first time going to this museum so it was even more thrilling. Actually, it wasn’t my first time going. I went one time years and years ago with my mom and sister, but I don’t even remember that so it doesn’t count. So yeah, this was my first time going and I was very exciting.

I was looking forward to going even more because it’s where one of my favorite movies, Night at the Museum, takes place. I couldn’t wait to walk all around the museum and see all the different iconic spots from the movie. I went to learn some things about history too of course.

We spent the whole day at the museum making sure we hit all the cool spots and took lots of pictures. We were coming to the end of the day when we decided to go see the mummies. Disaster struck. The mummy exhibit was closed! And you had to pay to get in! So crazy. So upsetting. So sad. We all agreed that we would go back one day soon so that we can see the mummies.

We stayed until closing. I was surprised by how early the museum closed. It closed at 6 p.m. which I thought was very early. The sun wasn’t even setting yet. I thought that maybe they needed to get all the people out to give the janitorial staff time to clean everything before the museum comes to life. Just kidding. Still, I was very surprised. This image requires alt text, but the alt text is currently blank. Either add alt text or mark the image as decorative.

I had an awesome time at the museum. It was all so interesting and I was honestly surprised at how big the museum was. The building doesn’t look that big from the outside. All the exhibits were so amazing and it was a greatday spent with great people.
