On Friday the 17th I went to SACC tutoring for MTH 2003 since I have been struggling lately on understanding certain topics and I tried to refresh my memory on older ones as well. It was really helpful since I attended a workshop and the tutor had a simple way of teaching. He would call on a student one by one and ask them to show him a problem they were struggling with and then he would move onto the next student and repeat the process. It was a very clear and understanding method to follow because it not only helped me, but also getting to see what others struggled with was more reassuring to know I wasn’t alone and it also showed me more topics that I should focus on for preparing for the final. For most of the workshop there were only two people attending the it and more people filtered in later on. Having a small group was beneficial because it was easier to understand what was going on because the tutor could focus longer on questions and also could answer more of my questions. Overall, he explained his responses in a simple way that could be easily understood. My tutor’s name was Carl and I would definitely recommend him to other students who need help in Pre-Cal, or MTH 2003 more specifically. While this wasn’t such an enjoyable event to attend, it was the most helpful one I have gone to in Baruch and I highly recommend other students go as well. Even if it was on a Friday, it was worth going to SACC tutoring and take out some time from your day. I will for sure beattending more tutoring sessions in the future especially for finals and especially for a subject I have struggled with since the beginning of the semester.
