Freshman Seminar Fall 17 LC16

FRO Blog Post #1: Student Life – Joey Lin

On Thursday last week, I attended the general interest meeting for Alpha Kappa Psi, a coed business fraternity that will introduce you to new people and get internships. At the meeting, they explained that they had many resources that would help us make the best out of college. They would help out with resumes, networking, interviews, so that we could get any internship/job that we want. They also had free food and drinks at the meeting. There are 150 members at Baruch and 240,000 worldwide. My cousin (at Baruch) and brother (at Binghamton University) are also part of this fraternity, and they recommended that I join this fraternity because they both said that you make a lot of connections/friends and that the frat helps you succeed in your business career, which can definitely be seen by the amount of people that they have in the fraternity worldwide. This fraternity has many alumni in the “Big Four Accounting Firms (Deloitte, PwC, E&Y, and KPMG),” which aids in getting jobs because they’ll look to hire more people from Baruch. I will definitely attend the next meeting that they have coming up.
