Introduction to Me

I, Alexa Castellanos, just like any other ordinary College student, have different strengths and weaknesses that I can identify myself with. Some are academic, other are personal, and a few are both. Strengths are the essence of one’s personality and make one unique from everyone else. While weaknesses are just things we need to work on to make them become strengths.
Now that I am 18 years old and a freshman in Baruch College, I still see strengths in me that I’ve always had since when I was a little girl and still lived in Colombia. As long as I can remember I have been very organized and on point with everything. This did not only help me growing up and in school, but also in the internships and jobs I’ve had. In numerous instances I have been able to locate a paper, phone number or anything my bosses have asked for since I always put things in their place, so this way others and myself are instantly able to find them when needed. I was always on point with phone calls, messages, responding to emails and daily tasks, which is the kind of strength that helped me keep these jobs.
On the other side, a major weakness I am currently working on and has affected me more academically than in any other aspect of my life, is procrastination. Most people would think it has to do with time management and in some cases, it does. However, with me it simply seems to be that I put off things until they catch up to me, and the time comes when I have no other choice but to get them done. An example is school written assignments. Last semester, I frequently found myself the night before an English essay or History paper were due, trying to finish them when I had gotten the assignment around two weeks in advance. I began thinking that it was that I work better under pressure and this way get things done right away, but I came to realize its just a bad habit that needs to be improved.
