Reflection of Career Enrichment Workshop

The careet enrichment workshop did help a lot on me. What interested me most is the part of how to prepare an interview and get to now about the company you will be interviewed for and the part of how the STARR website will help us find the companies who are recruiting exclusively for Baruch students. The very important detail Treven was talking- write a thank you note to who interviews us-is a really sweet idea which I had never noticed, which shows our good manner, and which will give the interviewer a deeper and better impression. The STARR career center and its website will help us a lot in the future and I think we will be much more ready for whatever we will be facing with its help. We are lucky to have such a helpful source.

I didn’t have an opportunity to attend any workshops from STARR Career Development Center due to my work schedule. My career goal is to be an accountant in a Federal Government Services. I didn’t have any clue of the Federal jobs as yet, but I intend to in the near future.

The workshop on resumes and interviews was very informative. It really highlighted the main things I would need to know later on in my life. I believe that this really opened my eyes up to what the work force is really like. Although I am very content with my job right now I now know what to expect if I plan to go out and look for a different one. The workshop also explained to me, more clearly, what the Starr program really is. I was delightfully surprised to learn of all the different way I can access it and how much it can really help. I look forward to writing a resume and having someone from that office review it and give me some advice. That was one of the most interesting things that I got from the workshop.

The enrichment workshop was an efficient class that we were able to attend because it was very useful to everyone. Although some of the things that were mentioned within the workshop were common sense or knowledge previously acquired, the workshop did a good job at reminding and pinpointing certain small, but effective details that are sometimes looked over. So although the presentation lingered mostly around resume writing and interviews, it did answer questions about career development because it covered several different areas in such an elapsed time. As for the workshop going over the Starr Career Development Center, it actually wasn’t covered to my knowledge, but I didn’t have any questions nonetheless.

My career goals are pretty simple at the moment because I’m not too sure about specific goals. Therefore I just hope to obtain a job and classes as to what I seek to be in the future. Thankfully, this workshop has made certain websites and tools available to me in which I can improve myself.

The Enrichment Workshop definetely provided useful tools to be applied while putting together your resume and while having an interview.

The presentation did answer some doubts and questions that I personally had. The presentation was very informative .

As soon as I have the chance I would like to go to the career center for advice on the resume that I currently have and also to mock an interview, this way I can be better prepared.

Career Enrichment Workshop – Humble

The career enrichment workshop was nice. it’s good to know that the school has a program in place to assist students with job readiness skills and also with getting a job. my career goals are to gain vast experience in the corporate sector, then apply that experience in a law practice, then later do something in the public domain. my plan to go about all this, starts with earning a BBA so thats my concentration now. the presentation didn’t really deal much with career development, it was much about resume building and job readiness hints. generally speaking though, it was informative in regards to highlighting the services offered by the starr career development center. i heard about it a little bit during orientation but now i more so understand what the program offers and how to utilize its services. in the near future, i might be using the video interview service to practice for real interviews, and i might go to them to have them look over my resume, and also use their database to research for job oppurtunities  and so on.
