Who I think I am (Anita)

Hi, everyone, I am Anita. I was born in and grew up in China. I came to New York City in May 2012. New York City is a really amazing place. “There is always something happening here. If you get bored, it is really your own fault.” And it is true. I am deeply affected by NYC’s diverse cultures. I like going to various museums here.  I went to the Metropolitan Museum last year. And I really desire to visit the Museum of Modern Art because I know there is the painting The Scream by  Edvard Munch being exhibited until April. I hope I have the chance to see it. Before I get to New York, I was living in a small town in China. I had a plenty friends whom were as silly as I was. They were cute and sweet. Later, many of us went to colleges in different cities and went abroad. We separate from other now but I believe one day we will reunite. OK, here comes my hobbies.  I like slow running. I used to run 4 miles every Saturday in China. Because I find it very helpful to relax myself from pressures. When I am running, I don’t have to care about how the world is going, if I have finished my homework or how I did in the last exam. I only focus on the path I am running on. I only need to get my shirt wet and insist to the finish line. There might not be fans waiting for me on the finishing line and there might not be flowers and medals for me if I finish it. But it is that kind of self-satisfaction brings me to the pure world where I can live without upset and worry. Besides, sometimes after I get really tired from the running, I can have a nice sleep that night. I feel replenished and reborn the next morning. However, after I came to New York City, I barely run. It is so hard to find a place to run in this busy city. Everyone is so busy everyday that it’s like New Yorkers are already running every day. You can see people running everywhere actually, running for a 6 train to work, running for a 9:30 am class, running across the road…… On the other hand, I really don’t have time to run now. Taking five classes, tons of homework assignments are waiting for me. Anyway, I am still enjoying my new life here, as a college student in Baruch, ( despite the limit of uploading a picture to this blog is too small which drives me crazy.)
