Blog Post #1 Criteria
Hey guys! Here are the details for your first blog post due Tuesday 2/19 BEFORE CLASS:
Create a 2-minute video, 8-minute slideshow or a 10-song musical playlist that represent who you think you are to your classmates. Embed your creation in a blog post and then write not more than 500 words that explains how your work speaks to who you are. There are some free tools (listed below) that you can use for this assignment, but you are free to use whatever services you like (as long as you use something that we can all access (ex. don’t make a password-protected playlist that we won’t be able to view).
Video Editors:
YouTube Editor
Image Slideshows:
Blogs@Baruch built-in galleries (just insert multimedia into the post itself)
Flickr/Flickr Slidr
Picassa
Image Loop
Musical Playlists:
Grooveshark
Spotify (<3)
Mixpod
*NOTE: You don’t have to write a 500-word post all in one shot (although you can). You can describe your motivations behind each part of your work separately or in one paragraph. Although it doesn’t need to be exactly 500 words, don’t do just 100 (because I’ll notice it). Have fun with this! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Kevin’s Music Playlist
This is the playlist that I came up with that I felt shows who I am. The first track is an obvious joke. The reasons I chose the song as my introduction is to show that I’m a funny guy or at least I think I am and of course that I’m Asian. An introduction can’t get any better than that. Limp Bizkit’s song “Counterfeit” is to express my hate for fake people. I can’t stand people who don’t think for themselves and just fall in line to follow. The way I interpret Nelly Furtado’s song is to be free. I don’t want to allow myself to be confine and not do what I would like to do. ”What’s My Age Again?” shows my attitude towards rushing life and worrying over everything. I’m a pretty laid-back kind of guy. There’s plenty of time for everything. Don’t set a cap in your life to do things or act a certain way because that’s just what is done. Of course I want to be free and do what I like without being told but will I be able to? That’s the reason I chose Nine Inch Nails’ “The Hand That Feeds.” I often find myself thinking whether I’d be able to break the mold and be able to survive off of doing what I want or would I have to fall in line and take from the hand that feeds. I’m a tough person physically, mentally and emotionally. It’s hard for me to break down in any of those aspects thus my reason for choosing “Warrior” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I don’t give in very easily and I’ll struggle until I persevere and that is what makes me a warrior. “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” expresses how I feel about love. Everyone wants to be in love. Love is an extraordinary thing. Being in love will make you feel a wide range of emotions and even make you do some crazy things from time to time. And “Lovesong” by The Cure displays my faithfulness if I were ever to be in love. I believe people should be able to control their “love” and stay faithful but, as we all know, it doesn’t happen all to often. I’ve been faithful for 3 and 1/2 years in a long distance relationship so why can’t people do it in a normal relationship. Everyone has a dark side to them. Some people let it out all the time and some people don’t. As laid back as I am, I can get pretty angry and let the animal inside loose at times. That is my reason for placing Slipknot’s “Liberate” on my playlist. The last song I chose is dedicated to all those in the FRO class. Ke$ha’s “Dirty Love” is for that oh so “kinky” part of me that all of you discovered. – With love “Kinky” Kevin

Luis Fonsi – No Me Doy Por Vencido
First off, the first picture is of me with my mum and her husband. I love her with all my heart since she’s be all I’ve needed her to be. She’s taught me to think rationally, and to learn from any mistakes I’ve made. I think that without her, I would’ve been a completely different person.
I love watching videos on my laptop. From animes, to TV shows, to movies. But mostly animes. My favorite anime ever would most probably be Angel Beats, due to the amazing character development, and the moving ending. I love drawing as a past time, and although I may not be good at it, I love seeing the outcomes on paper. The two drawings were done by me.
The music I’ve linked are just a couple of songs that I would most probably be listening to on a daily basis. I would listen to mostly any music.
As for myself, I love reading. If we were still in the paper era of our lives, I would probably be nose deep in a book. I generally keep to myself, but I welcome conversation and love meeting new people.
For my future goals, I am torn between physics, and becoming a veterinarian. I am great with math, and I absolutely love dogs.

These songs motivate me when it’s time to get work done. I keep my schedule busy between working full-time, going to school full-time, and being a full time father to a 3 year old girl. Normally I do not sleep as much as I would like but these songs, give me motivation, ambition, and when I turn them up LOUD I stay awake on the train. Hope you enjoy.

These songs speak to who I am because I grew up on the Beatles and used to spend a month every year in England.

Carter Amon About Me
Before I get started I would first like to introduce you to a great man.
My name is Carter Amon,
I come from a hard working family, my mother and father are both in their mid 60′s and they both take care of my two older brothers and their families plus my grandmother while still holding regular jobs. My father is an old school marine from the Viet Nam war, the word “quit” are only associated with the last warning words I got before I caught a whipping. My mother is an old fashioned spiritual southern lady who would give me the world if she had the means too. I firmly believe she is the warmest person on earth. My mother and father raised me under the standard southern principles of respect your elders and lady’s(girls), don’t talk back, don’t question. When you’re in church sit down and shut up, but outside of church its anything goes till you get caught. The last principle was kind of my own guideline for every rule. My Dad was super Dad, he could tell that I did something wrong within a millisecond of committing the crime. He wouldn’t even have to be in the same zip code, he just knew. The worst part was sometimes he’d let me think I got away with it. Then after I got past initial questioning he’d let me go play then sneak up, snatch me up and whip me in front of my friends. Then just let me go play again afterwards, comical to me now. I did have the best parents anyone could ask for.
I have had my share of adventures for a kid from a small town in Texas. When I joined the Marine Corps after high school my whole life changed. The world in which I lived had grown exponentially in the span of a few months. I’ve been to China, Germany, Morocco, Canada, LA, San Diego, Las Vegas, Vermont, Florida, Virginia, and finally NYC. When I first came to NYC I trained reservists in communications equipment, and was also a range staff coach for the rifle range. New York City out of all the places I have been is the weirdest place yet. People live on top of each other, no one has a front or back yard, bums are everywhere, the whole place is dirty, and EVERYone is rude. After living in NYC for a few years I’ve come to see that this place is weird, but its not that bad. And the people aren’t rude they are just “passionate”.
I am out going, outdoorsy, light hearted, easy going, adventuress, and an adrenaline junky. I’ve been places, met famous people, changed peoples lives, saved peoples lives, made tons of friends across the globe, and look forward to making more here at Baruch.

These pictures represent me and everything I like to do. Music has always been a passion of mine. I was a singer in High School and did various performances. Music never fails me when I listen to music nothing else matters it is my only escape from reality.Tap Dancing has always been a hobby for me even though I stopped recently because school and work takes up a lot of my time. I have a picture of family because anyone who knows me knows that I love my family, my parents are my best friends and my brothers are my world. There is a picture of my High School and Baruch and that is because I love school even though I complain. Also there is a picture of people partying, exercising, and sleeping and that is basically what I do everyday. I enjoy the movies and hanging out with friends. And the picture of the two people holding hands represents my boyfriend and I who I love very much These pictures basically sum up who I am.

My name is Josh and these ten songs all represent a piece of me in their own specific way. I am very musically diverse which means at any given moment you might catch me listening to anything from rap to classic rock or house to jazz. Some of the songs that I have listed above are slow and relaxing, while some are upbeat and make me want to party. I have many sides to me and generally all my qualities help me get along with others. Just as I listen to many different kinds of music I interact with many different kinds of people. For a year I studied abroad and picked up many things from my traveling and studying in Israel; including the types of music that I listen to. Sometimes I enjoy just taking it easy and listening to some Creedence, and sometime when I’m going out with some friends or just in the mood for some fast paced music to get me pumped up for my day at Baruch I’ll listen to something along the lines of Sweet Disposition by Temper Trap. This music shows my ability and love for adapting to new environments along with satisfying every musical urge in me, along with getting along with people and making new friends.
