Upon first entering Baruch, I said to myself “Damn this place is packed!” All the students seemed to be in a rush to get to somewhere important. At orientation when I first heard that we’d have to take a mandatory freshman seminar class I wasn’t pleased to say the least. Now that my first semester is coming to a close, I am grateful that Baruch offers its students such a helpful course. Helpful in the sense that you have a group of people with you that are experiencing exactly what you’re experiencing. You don’t feel alone which is usually how most people feel when entering a new environment. People that help you remember you have homework when you forget and give you helpful tips on ways to study. My picture is one of excitement because that is how I feel most days at Baruch. I’m surrounded by cool people that I get along with very well. Freshman seminar class sessions will be missed, however I am looking forward to all the new experiences and memories I’ll create at Baruch.
