What are you afraid of?

My biggest nightmare would be finding out my achievement is not what I really want, after a long time of pursuing it.

I guess everybody lives with some type of satisfaction, that impels them to get up in the morning and to make efforts to achieve their goals. Even though I haven’t really been in the kind of situation that I mentioned above, but I can imagine the frustration and the strike that would caused by this, which is why I’m extremely cautious about the major choosing and the career development. Let’s just hope it won’t be happening in the future.

Workshop

Even though the Sidney Mishkin Gallery is in a smaller scale as a gallery, but I did enjoy the whole integrate idea that the exhibition presented. It really attracts people that when modern elements and tradition artistic expression combine together. The one with all the blur faces, and the artist uses the opposite colors to serve as a foil to the color motif. I ain’t no painter, but I do appreciate art works that appear to be edgy and novel.

As for the other workshop “health and wellness”, I do think that everyone has their ways of reliving stress, and as far as I am concerned, with all the increasing rate of suicide rate, it is essential for  people to start to pay more attention on how they  balance their life.

Weilin Guan’s Playlist

1. To China With Love

This is a song from an alternative rock band from Borlänge, Sweden. They recent albums have experimentally blend in Chinese element into their music, this song I posted is the most representative one of their newest music style.

2.Know Who You Are at Every Age

Cocteau Twins were a Scottish alternative rock band active from 1979 to 1997, known for innovative instrumentation and atmospheric, non-lyrical vocals. From the way I think of them, I‘m not just attracted to the magnificent voice of the vocal, also the deep thoughtful meanings and the interesting ideas, they brought it to the melody are also fascinated me.

3.You Know I’m No Good

The most talented soul singer died of alcohol poisoning on 23 July 2011,I was kind of shocked when I first heard it. Recommending her most popular and representative song to memorize her.

4.What Katie Did

The song was written when the lead vocal of “The Libertines”, Peter Doherty was in a relationship with world-known super model Kate Moss. It’s a breezy sonorous song, and easy to sing along with. There’s also video clip of Peter and Kate singing this song together at some music festivals on Youtube.

5.Long Time

From a funk band called “Cake”, Cake epitomized the postmodern, irony-drenched aesthetic of ‘90s geek rock. I heard this song in a episode of “Shameless”. Great TV show, great song.

6.Love will tear us apart

My favorite song.

7.A Perfect Indian

The first time I heard it was another singer’s cover version, and I went to google this singer right away. The individuality of her is that she is bareheaded.(yet still beautiful)

8.Friday I’m in Love

Who doesn’t like Friday.

9. Temptation

This song is Moby’s cover version. It was originally from famous punk band “New Order”. Don’t judge me, but I think I like this version better.

10.Distraction

From “Zero 7″. The vocal of this band, Sia Furler recently became more and more popular, due to she was in “The voice” as Christina Aguilera’s  co-coach. Great  singer.

I’m having the hardest time to choose 10 out of over 2000 songs in my Ipod. I wanted to choose one song out of each singer that I like, but it was still a lot, so I only wrote the description about the first 10…
