This past semester has been an interesting one. I’ve meet plenty of new people and have had the pleasure of meeting these two awesome dudes; LeeBeth and Carter.  If I hadn’t met these two awesome peeps, I’d probably be an anti-socialite. We have gotten through some difficult moments in classes, and have talked out our problems to each other. We’ve developed a wonderful friendship, and have even donned the name “3 Musketeers”

I enjoyed this semester thanks to these guys, and I hope the next couple of semesters will be just as great.

It sucks when your name is so common in this world, you get jumbled up with other people in systems.

First off, my name is Ruben Abimael Flores. Not Ruben Flores Jr. Secondly, I go to Baruch College, not Lehman College.

I came in for freshman orientation the happiest I could be. After taking a 6 month break from school, and working for a bit of that time, I figured I need find something to do before I become a couch potato. Several hours into the orientation itself, one of the peers pulls me out and tells me the one thing I didn’t expect.

“The last four digits of the social security you showed isn’t in the system.”

What? Are you kidding me? How is it that my information is wrong? I put all the information in myself! Lucky for me, the lady working in the ID center was a sweetheart, and had patience for my problems. It took me 3 weeks to fix all that was wrong. Tons of visits to the offices just to prove that I am NOT Ruben Flores Jr.

I’ve come to realize that no one will help you unless you seek the help itself. During that time, I met some of the dimmest people, some people who just don’t want to deal with student issues, and some people who understand the situations we’re put in.

Perhaps I’ll have experiences that you can’t find anywhere else. I hope the rest of my time here at Baruch will be just as eventful but less stressing.

First off, the first picture is of me with my mum and her husband. I love her with all my heart since she’s be all I’ve needed her to be. She’s taught me to think rationally, and to learn from any mistakes I’ve made. I think that without her, I would’ve been a completely different person.

I love watching videos on my laptop. From animes, to TV shows, to movies. But mostly animes. My favorite anime ever would most probably be Angel Beats, due to the amazing character development, and the moving ending. I love drawing as a past time, and although I may not be good at it, I love seeing the outcomes on paper. The two drawings were done by me.

The music I’ve linked are just a couple of songs that I would most probably be listening to on a daily basis. I would listen to mostly any music.

As for myself, I love reading. If we were still in the paper era of our lives, I would probably be nose deep in a book. I generally keep to myself, but I welcome conversation and love meeting new people.

For my future goals, I am torn between physics, and becoming a veterinarian. I am great with math, and I absolutely love dogs.
