health & wellness

After the workshop which called “health & wellness”, I think it’s really useful, at least for me.

When I feel tired or anxious before a test, I always try to meditation to relax. As a result, I feel much better, and have more energy.

On the other hand, I do have some suggestions for this workshop.

Firstly, I think this workshop should have more interaction with students.

Secondly, I suggest this workshop should have once a week rather than once a year. Because most students just forget to how relax themselves after the workshop if there is no one remind them.

These are my advises of “health & wellness” workshop.

My first semester at Baruch was very eye opening. I met a lot of different people with different situations and experiences. I learned a lot from my professors and realized the kind of student I am. I learned how to prioritize better although I procrastinate often. I work weekends and dance so I have to do my assignments during the week. I am thankful that the semester is coming to an end because I finally will relax even though I am taking summer classes. I am glad I had classes with a lot of the same people because if I forgot an assignment was due or need to study and ask questions I always have someone to ask. I also met Carter and Ruben and they helped me a lot with my work and made my semester fun. Having friends there to make you laugh is always a good thing especially because life can be stressful, it was nice to have them there to make my bad days a little brighter. Since this has been my first semester I have yet to join a club but I plan on doing so if I do not transfer to Hunter.
During my first few months at Baruch I learned the importance of internships and networking. In order to be successful you need some sort of experience and I think Baruch connects you to the right people and there is always someone at Baruch that can help you with any problem. I found my self going to several different offices and always leaving with a smile during my time here. Freshman Seminar  although  in the beginning felt it was a waste of time actually was really helpful and made me view certain things in a different light. It motivated me to make better use of my time and make a change. I honestly have no complaints about Baruch and I actually really like the professors, students and environment. I have been to some events and I must say there is always something going on and for every kind of audience you can think of.
I know my classes will only get more and more and difficult as I progress so I am trying to develop better studying habits. Its going to take some time but I am working on it. I am excited to see where my future takes me and I know Baruch will give me all the tools I need to be successful.

My favorite workshop was the “stress” workshop. I liked it because it showed me how stressful person I am. Moreover, I learned different ways to reduce the stress in my life. However, even after going to that workshop, I still believe that stress is useful because it helps us to be more serious about our education, and as the consequence, get better grades. My stress level wasn’t to the point that causes me to make an appointment with a doctor, but I need to control to not get to that point. Therefore, it was like a warning for me,

To answer the second question, which was that if I could change something about this class, what would that be? My answer is “nothing”. This semester was the first semester I studied at college, so it was the strangest one for me. FRO, or being more specific, dear Kim and Crystal helped me a lot to know about different things in Baruch College.  FRO was like a bridge that led me from my high school, which was much different than schools here, to this great college

I wish I could take this class one more time. Seeing the gray line, I have made two great friends, dear Kim and Crystal.

Actually, now that I wrote all these, something about this class came to mind. It would be much better if dear Crystal could add us on her  Facebook so we don’t bother to add 1000 Crystals to find her. Other than that, this class is flawless.

I want to say thank you because of the great semester I spent in your class. I am sure that everyone who comes to your class misses you at the end of the semester. I wish you the bests :)

Health and Wellness workshop was better because it helped me to focus on my stress and problems. It was fun because they gave us some sheets to find out our stress level.  The mentors were enthusiastic and prepared and they very well used the presentation to provide knowledge about various symptoms and solutions to stress.

I didn’t really like the Sydney Mishkin gallery workshop because it was not really informative and interesting. The paintings were good but it was boring, not really suitable for college students.

I like the health and wellness program because it teaches us how to tackle our stress issues since i have some family members that always deals with stress. So i went home and taught them how to relax themselves. it was really great.

i don’t really like the Sidney museum because it only talks about Chinese history. i was really looking forward to seeing some American history. well it was still okay.

Wrokshop (#3 Blog Assignment)

I like the Sidney Mishkin Gallery workshop better. The chinese painting attracted me the most, then a painting of modern lady is also one of my favorite. I’m so glad to see the they imitate the gallary so good.

I had good time for visiting the workshop, however, I think the workshop should have a small video screen next to the painting. That would make us more clearly to know about the history and author of the pianting.

I liked very much the workshop about stress because I am a stressful person especially during school. It made me more aware of my situation (stressful life) and it gave me new skills that I did not know before. Also I learned that there are different programs to release stress at school.  However, I did not like the gallery workshop because I am not an artistic person and I am not a big fan of art galleries.  Maybe instead of an art gallery we could have gone to a workshop of making art stuff for school.

My Favorite Workshop — 3 Blog Assignment

I enjoyed the Sidney Mishkin Gallery workshop better. I think it was very interesting to see the collection of painting that they have. I have never seen paintings from Chinese painters before, and I think that there were interesting paintings in the Gallery.

The visit to the gallery was enjoyable and the paintings were good. But I think that if the staff of the gallery were better prepared and informed about the paintings, it would have been much better. If they could have better introduced the paintings with a knowledgeable information background or explain the painting, it would have been more interesting. But overall it was a good experience.

My first semester as a freshman at Baruch has been absolutely amazing thus far. I have to admit though that like most people I was extremely nervous, didn’t know what to expect and I was extremely shy. However, that all changed at orientation. I was more social and started conversations with the people that sat at my table but once we were split into groups it was like I had to start back from square one and I did. I remember clearly Frida and Shaderra from the ice breaker we did. Frida said that she loved coffee and was addicted to it and Shaderra said that she doesn’t play basketball which most people assume because of her height. Then somehow Kenny and I began talking during our lunch break which is where we met Jabari. Thinking back on it now it’s kind of funny but I’m so glad we’re all close. Rodney just appeared out of nowhere later on but he’s really cool just like Tiffany, Sebastian, Ferzanna and our entire class. I have to admit we’re a good bunch. <img decoding=” class=”wp-smiley” style=”height: 1em; max-height: 1em;” /> I chose the meme above because I felt that each emotion and facial expression represents how I’ve felt at least one so far this semester. I was definitely excited to start off my new semester, meet my professors and make friends just like the figure shown in the meme. When I received the syllabus from my professors I didn’t make the face in the meme I was actually just a bit overwhelmed but during class I couldn’t stop smiling. I felt that things were going great until I took my first few exams that’s when I realized how much work and studying had to be put into each class. I went from being an A student to getting B’s and C’s on tests. This was definitely a shocker for me and it made me want to push through further and to do much better. So far so good, I can’t complain. I recently got a group project for sociology that I’m really looking forward to doing. I can assure everyone it will be great. Now I’m just stressing out over finals, looking forward for the semester to end and be on vacation already. Overall, the experience has been unforgettable. I really do love Baruch now and I also really care for my friends. We’re getting through this together and it’s just wonderful. I can’t wait for the next semesters I have left. <img decoding=” class=”wp-smiley” style=”height: 1em; max-height: 1em;” />
