workshop!

I like the stress workshop the most. Not because it’s useful to me, but it is interesting. And the way they present is funny. I was actually stressed and worried about my grades around the mid-term. When the time i got to visit the stress workshop, I was already not worrying too much about my grades and stuff. So I was like: “Okay, lets see what advice you guys have.” Then I see these two very “stressful” looking guy (presenter). I don’t know how much people have the same feeling like me. But these two guy really look like they live in a sour life… I was trying to mess with them a bit. so when they asked :”Give us two reasons why you feel stressed.” I told them I am stressed because i’m single. I was just trying be funny. I don’t know how that poked Anita’s sore. For the next 6 weeks, Anita was very sad because she doesn’t have a boyfriend. And she always looked me in the eyes with sorrow and say:”Why you mention that.. I didn’t even realize single can be stressful before. Now you make me so stressful. FU!!!”stressful girl

Missing Second Posts

What are you afraid of?

My biggest nightmare would be finding out my achievement is not what I really want, after a long time of pursuing it.

I guess everybody lives with some type of satisfaction, that impels them to get up in the morning and to make efforts to achieve their goals. Even though I haven’t really been in the kind of situation that I mentioned above, but I can imagine the frustration and the strike that would caused by this, which is why I’m extremely cautious about the major choosing and the career development. Let’s just hope it won’t be happening in the future.

Sidney Mishkin Gallery

Among the several workshops I have attended, I like the Sidney Mishkin Gallery the most. I like visiting galleries and museums. I like appreciating art. When  I am looking at the paintings, I feel quiet and calm. I feel connection to the artist. I will try to understand what the artist’s message by appreciating his/her work. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what really the artist’s view, but my own perspective matters. I can relate myself, my own experience to the work because art is always abstract. It’s a trip of self-exploration and a chance to clam myself down, throwing away pressure.

Workshops

I found the stress workshop to be the one I enjoyed the most. I wished the presenters of the group were a little more interactive but they covered a lot if stuff that was interesting. Managing a balance between school, work, and home was pretty hectic for my first semester. Sometimes I had to just sit back and take a breath to get things done. This workshop reiterated exercises that I had done before as well as a couple new ones.

I didn’t find myself too found of the art exhibit we went to a couple weeks back. I didn’t see it’s importance to the class or freshman year really. I enjoyed the art that was shown but I found it be very boring.

I liked the workshop that taught us how to manage stress more. Sometimes freshmen become distress during their first year of college since adapting from high school to college requires a great amount of effort and focus. This workshops was helpful for all of us surely because our courses’ assignments/test challenge us significantly. The difference between high school and college is that the students depend on themselves more than on others, like teachers or parents. Thanks to this workshop, I found a helpful way to deal with school stress. While FRO offered many great educational sessions, it also made it fun. It’s fine as it is–It does not need any changes!

Workshops

My favorite Work shop was the stress Workshop. Everybody have stresses some point at their life and they need to learn how to handle their stress and be healthy. I skipped a semester of college and now I am getting back on track, things might be uneasy for me at times. Another reason is because I work and I go to school, time is hard to manage at times and I do get stressful. Stress workshop really help me learn how to handle my stress in a positive way.

I like Sidney Mishkin Gallery very much since i saw a lot of painting from the gallery. The gallery itself is huge with collection. I am relaxed during the session. The experience is simply amazing for me. It is because the gallery is full of Chinese art that i am familiar with. It also help to release the stress from my mind by looking at these painting.

Third Blog:

I liked the Health and fitness workshop better than the other one. It was really interesting to know about the stresses that are the parts of the everyday life. Before going to the class, i thought that i was a very stressful person, but the workshop helped me realize that it was not the case. This workshop helped me understand the advantages and the disadvantages of  having a stress and ways to reduce and work them out. I do not know how good the questions were in measuring the stresses a person has but i was really glad that we had the chance to know about them and hope that these could be helpful in the coming years of my stay in Baruch.

Workshop

Even though the Sidney Mishkin Gallery is in a smaller scale as a gallery, but I did enjoy the whole integrate idea that the exhibition presented. It really attracts people that when modern elements and tradition artistic expression combine together. The one with all the blur faces, and the artist uses the opposite colors to serve as a foil to the color motif. I ain’t no painter, but I do appreciate art works that appear to be edgy and novel.

As for the other workshop “health and wellness”, I do think that everyone has their ways of reliving stress, and as far as I am concerned, with all the increasing rate of suicide rate, it is essential for  people to start to pay more attention on how they  balance their life.

3rd Blog Assignment

My favorite workshop is the “health & wellness” workshop. It is because very useful for me.
As an international student, not only curious about my new life, but also fell anxious. After this workshop, I learned how to relax myself. However, I don’t really like the “Sidney museum” because it was boring. The picture is beautiful, but I really don’t know the picture’s meaning. But it was OK.
