blog post #2: monologue

Hello everyone, my name is Yu Pan. Last time I introduced the animation “frozen” , this time I will not introduce any specific anima, but my animation history.
I started watching cartoons from the age of 6 ,I did not know it also called anima, we called it cartoon anyway . At first, i watched cartoon gourd, Journey to the West, which are typical of Chinese cartoon. Slowly, I came into contact with the international animation, so I knew that is a fact, not only the existence of the cartoon, as well as animation which has little different from cartoon.
Then I went to Primary school, my family strict control of watching television, they thought that TV was not good for children, especially children who were students such as would lower their score. At the time in 2001- it was 13 years ago. In 2001 , China was using closed-circuit lines to connect channel, without closed-circuit cable, it would be impossible to watch TV show. Therefore, my grandfather took the closed-circuit cable out of my sight , prevent me from watching TV , but is this issue could be problem for me? of course not. I started search through the closed-circuit line. Sometimes it was under the bed , sometimes in the closet on top , sometimes actually in the kitchen …
Later, i went to high school and became boarder, because the computer was not popular at that time, I learned to bought the pirated disc. General pirated disc one dollar per cartoon, which was very cheap. So I would go home on weekends wandering around the store to see if there were any new goods. Later, when the computer is quite common , I learned to look at a new fan – is a kind of animation , a new animation will be updated every three months or so.
Recently, I found a interesting software called SAI (Easy Paint Tool SAI) that foundation for printing. My sister draw it, I’m going to finish the printing.

  1. Hi there Yu Pan,
I read once again your blog post and I find it really interesting.
I like the way you describe your childhood because somehow I can remember mine that was almost the same.
By the way, the drawings are very nice and you should go on painting ( I say this because I love to paint even that I don’t practice it anymore). So yeah, keep following the things that you like.
    Keli 🙂

  2. This monologue was exceptionally written, and very interesting. I love your drawings, and I believe that you are truly talented. I also find you’re ability to connect with a reader via text amazing.
