at least i hope its plural; boy it would be weird if only one person were reading this (me). What a lonely world. Anyways this is my first blog and to be honest I don’t even know if I’m writing in the right place or w/e ( I do not know how to work this website, nor do I want to put in 4 hours learning how to but I’ll have to in the near future… just not now ). Anyways the first week of Baruch College was fun. I’m meeting new people and getting used to having fewer but longer classes. I like the facilities Baruch has though, including the weight room, basketball courts, swimming pool, and library (where by the way you can borrow expensive textbooks required for class and scan them to your flash drive to save some money). In this first blog post I’ll be talking about my experiences in these places.
First off the weight room. It’s a good place to work out because it has machines that can train every part of your body. Yes that includes your glutes (for girls who want bigger and sexier butts so they can have men stare at them- or rather their fine ass – in class) via yoga medicine balls; idk how it actually trains your glutes but I’m guessing you can find someone who can teach you. Annnny whoos, there are mirrors everywhere can you can view your progress from time to time. Just be sure to shower after your extensive workout.
One floor below are the Basketball courts which are always full but you can always find someone who is willing to let you play with them. Be sure to, as with the weight room, shower after playing.
One floor below it, is basically a shower itself – the swimming pool. Unlike the basketball courts, the pools are not usually crowded, unless you happen to come during Baruch’s Swim team practice. Yeah… the only downside to the swimming pool is the hours/schedule; for me the only time I get to swim is before my first class starts ( around 8:00 am -10:30 am ) or after my last class finishes ( after 6:00 – 8:00 pm), which sucks because on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have a 2 hour break in between one of my classes that I can’t spend for swimming.
And lastly the library which is located across the Vertical Campus’ exit ( it’s what I call it, even though it looks more like an entrance because it’s the only way to get into the school without having scaffolding 10 feet above your head ). The library is one of the best places to study and get your work done. It has this atmosphere that make it almost impossible to speak above a whisper, perfect for studying or … sleeping. On the upper floors you can access computers via your baruch username and password. You can scan books or papers for free, but printing requires a small fee ( 10 cents for each paper- you need to buy a copy card and add money in it however ).
All in all Baruch has the finest facilities you can hope for so be sure to check them out!
