So this week the topic of the post is Free choice. You would think that being that Free choice means you can write about what you want, that it will be easy. Think again, it took me a whole day to think about something so i just decided to start typing. I believe that is one of the reason Free choice is a topic.

This course is a lot of free writing and i truly enjoy it. I am someone who at times just likes to write to let out my emotions or to jot down what i am thinking about and what is on my mind. Writing to me is a passion. When you sit down and write all your emotions and thoughts are reflected in your writing. The style in which you write is a sort of indicator of who you are as a person. I enjoy writing columns about topics that enhance the lives of others since i thoroughly enjoy reading about things that enhance my own life. That’s my choice of writing. Certain people write non-fiction stories, others write poems. My question is if you were told you were going to die tomorrow, what would you write and what would the topic be about?

  1. I also had difficulty finding a suitable topic to discuss. My thoughts as of late don’t really seem to relate to our class. And although I also enjoy writing, I’ve never been a fan of free writes. It’s like I never have anything to say… Given my reserved nature, writing does allow me (great) freedom of expression. I’m not one to really delve into personal topics or discuss “feelings” so writing has become my outlet to do so.
While I may not write them, I certainly enjoy reading columns (or books or articles for that matter) that can enhance my life. I’ve actually bookmarked a few of these kinds of articles. Speaking of which, I have way too many bookmarks. Poetry is enjoyable to write as it keeps things concise. Short stories would be my preferred, creative form of writing. I took a creative writing course a few years ago and though difficult (perhaps 2 students received an “A”), it was a gratifying experience – I learned a lot. If I knew I was going to die tomorrow, I would write to my closest friends and family. The topic would somewhat vary depending on who I would be addressing. I have a good friend, who I haven’t spoken to in a bit, and we always end back discussing the same topics. Two of those topics being school and sports. So I’d definitely write about the cycle that is life and how things don’t end they just transform into something else.
