The Hybrid Course:
This is a blended or hybrid course, and for our section of English 2850 this means we will be meeting 50% in the classroom (every Wednesday, face-to-face) and 50% online (specific assignments due asynchronously each week). Please be aware that attendance is mandatory for both our physical and online meetings. Students must have reliable permanent off-campus Internet access and a general technical literacy. We will discuss the navigation of Blogs@Baruch during our first physical class meeting. Questions? Contact the instructor: [email protected]
By our first day of face-to-face (in the classroom) meeting, September 2nd, you will need to have:
1) Posted a brief (100-150 words) reply to this Welcome message, by discussing how you feel about being a part of a hybrid course (this is not Assignment 1, which has not yet been created). If you have trouble with this, you can bring your questions to our first meeting.
2) Bought/rented the print edition Norton Anthology of World Literature, Volumes D, E, F (Packet 2) 3rd, edition. Please note, it must be the 3rd edition, not the 2nd, and it must be the print edition, as no digital copies will be accepted (sorry).
3) Familiarized yourself with both this site and our Blackboard site.
Remember, We will not meet face-to-face on August 31st, as our in-class meeting dates are on Wednesdays, so our first face-to-face meeting will be Sept. 2nd. Check CUNYfirst for classroom assignment and textbook requirements.
I look forward to a fun semester, and to meeting all of you,
Jeanne Stauffer-Merle
