This video highlights my experience in participating in the Breast Cancer Walk at Central Park this afternoon. It was my first time participating in the walk and also visiting Central Park. There were thousands of supporters who did this walk in honor of someone or even for their self. The support and empowerment that were shown to survivors or even those suffering from this cancer were so powerful. The atmosphere was filled with love, unity, joy and excitement. These qualities played a significant role in my completion of the walk. Although I was exhausted, I was extremely proud to know that I made my mark against cancer. As a lady’s t-shirt state: “Say It, Fight It, Cure It.”

I believe that Central Park and the Breast Cancer Walk were a dynamic duo. When someone goes through cancer, including breast cancer, they experience a long, life changing process. They undergo chemotherapy, operations, medications and more. They may suffer a lot but these powerful women- in terms of breast cancer- remain strong during these processes. Unfortunately, some women become victims of this cancer resulting in their deaths, others become survivors, triumphing over this cancer. It is the same process for trees in Central Park. During the summer, the trees shine with all its glory and beauty. However, as fall approaches, their process of change begins. The leaves’ colors are not the same and the tree also starts to wither. When winter comes, the trees are silent and dull. Although some trees may triumph as spring approaches, other trees may not even bloom again and also be cut down to build more attraction. Therefore, for this reason, Central Park, and the Breast Cancer Walk are a dynamic duo as both relates to each other experiencing that changing process. They complement each other forming one soul and one experience in each individual today.
