It seems that sound has increasing aesthetic potential compared to it in the old times, in my opinion, it not only because the development of technology, but also people’s incentives to participant in art works and understand what’s behind the show.
After reading about Luigi’s <The Art of Noise> and Julia’s <The Aesthetic Potential of Sound>, they reminded me of a show I went few weeks ago named “Unzip Future”. This show really made a good combination of video, lights, sound and smell, thus letting me feel I was immersed in each scene that they created.
The most impressive one was a 3D scene designed to show changes of seasons, including that in mountains, sky views and the North Pole. The power of sound became visible as the color of those views changed at the same pace with the sound, and I was allowed to walk into this 3D walls to see closer or touch screens, even taking photos. It was amazing that places which were miles away had been illustrated in front of me vividly, and just in a small room, spanning the time and space limits. I had a lot of fun interacting with those zones and discovering watching how charming the world is.
Sound is everywhere, and they are different. We may sometimes ignore them but it is sound that make our life’s complete. I remembered a psychological experiment that a person can get go mad when stay in a no-noise environment for more than an hour.
