chasing happiness

cartoon strip depicting happiness

This comic strip is true to people’s attempt in pursuing happiness. The more one goes after attaining happiness the more it is out of reach. However, if you don’t run after happiness, it will come to you and land in your arms unexpectedly. Point of the comic: Don’t run after happiness. Let it come to you instead.

I personally feel that the statement N Singh made about happiness is incorrect. Although it is often the case happiness eludes a person, it does not mean that an individual should just sit back and wait for a miracle to happen. Every individual is responsible for making things happen for themselves because it is far more likely for an opportunity to pass you by rather than it eluding you during a chase. Furthermore, only the individual can decide what will make them happy in life and for this reason we cannot rely on chance or even probability to bring us happiness. Very rarely it is the case that a person gets lucky and everything they have ever wanted comes knocking on their door. Therefore, people MUST chase happiness because if we do not the opportunities that are presented to us will only pass us by and we will live regretting each moment.
