HAPPINESS

Coming to the end of the semester, i have gotten little to no sleep. Studying for tests and working on term papers has taken over my life. I have found little amounts of time to actually work on my digital essay. I know i will be able to finish in time, but i feel like the quality of all my work is going down because of the depravity of my sleep. My digital essay is only beginning to come together, I’m starting to feel the anxiety approaching as the weekend is about to come to an end. I spent most of my time trying to familiarize myself with the software i would be working with; being born in the age of the internet i could quite possibly be the least computer savvy teen in existence.

I’ve stumbled upon an amazing clip of New York City.

The photographer took a series a still shots and made it into a movie which I thought was pretty cool. It’s almost like someone made a miniature version of the City.

I’m thinking of doing a slideshow for my digital essay. However, I’m not sure if it’s alright to use pics that I find online. Are they also copyright protected or is it okay to use them?

So I’ve been re-reading all the poems and analyzing them and I haven’t decided on which of them I wanted to do. I tried looking for other poems and there wasn’t a lot that interested me. It sounds like you are all hard at work on your final projects (both digital and written) and I am really enjoying reading your process notes…keep them coming!

I’m at a conference today and just heard  someone say something that really speaks to what I want from you and what I hope you want from this closing learning experience that we’re all engaged in:

Okay, so i’ve been sick so far for 3 days.  At first glance this might seem horrible.  I have tests to study for, a presentation and a lot of homework.  But, this is also great.  It helped me figure out what I’m going to do for my digital essay.  I had already decided that I was going to take pictures of the things that I fear the most.  I couldn’t think of many, even though I know that I am afraid of a lot of things.  Being sick, I realized how scared I am about getting sick.  Not necessarily because of how bad I might feel, but because of all the things that I have to miss out on.  I couldn’t go to my classes and I hate feeling behind.  Also, I haven’t gone outside in 2 days and it’s so pretty outside.  So, yes being sick sucks, but I finally figured out one of my biggest fears, now I just have to figure out all the others.
