My video is a bit on the avant-garde side. The overall thesis of my paper was acknowledging how Anne Waldman uses a significant chant-like, mystical tone in her poetry in order to convey her appreciation for the diversity of the female demographic. I attempted to represent my thesis by displaying both video clips and images of what seems like typical female behavior, yet with the combination of digital effects and the audio I chose, I tried to add a mystical twist. It was really difficult for me to try and accurately represent my thoughts through the video in a way that my audience would understand. However, I thorougly enjoyed attacking the task and using my creativity in a intellectually challenging way. I’m genuinely pleased with the overall outcome of my work and hope that even if my audience doesn’t necessarily see my vision, they can learn to appreciate it — as is the case with most works of art.

How We Start Our Digital Essay!!!
By this time, our group has everything planned out already. We have finished a quarter of the scenes and have divided the rest of them among us. Well, it’s my first time using Adobe Flash so I was fearing that I can’t handle the work. However, after Suzan taught me, I become more familiar with the it. I decided to spend the coming weekend to finish my part and hopefully I can finished them on time to send them to Suzan by Sunday morning. Suzan will be putting all the parts together which require a lot of work and time. And she has been contributing a lot to help us finish the project together. One problem that we are still having is the background music is still undecided. Hoping to come to an conclusion by this week 🙂 Good luck on your digital essay and have fun, my fellow classmates!
Another Video Question!
Hello guys!
I hope the videos are working out for everyone. I’m almost done but have a little/major problem, I recorded a voiceover in a friend’s cool recording equipment, its saved as .wav, now I’m trying to open it in Garage Band to cut it in various “clips” so that the verses match with the scene I want them to, and it won’t open! Does anyone know how to convert it so that it opens in Garage Band, or maybe another program that will let me do this?
I know I can record voiceovers in iMovie, but this one has no background sound at all and I really like it. Plus, I don’t know if I will have enough time to record it again (I asked a friend with a nicer voice than mine to read the poem for me)

Digital Essay Tools.
I know that ALOT of people including myself had a pretty hard time finding some software to use or understanding some software. I guess I got a bit of a insight on some sites when I went to Alan Levine’s workshop. For those of who didn’t go, you bascially missed out because he showed alot of websites in which you can make videos with music and they looked pretty easy. So I wanted so share his site for those of who can’t find a program to use, this is the tools link to Alan Levine’s wiki, it has links to a bunch of tools with descriptions about them and some samples of how what the tool does.

Video Emergency Question
Hello everyone!
Has anyone used a Hitachi Camcorder before? I borrowed one from the library and spent the weekend filming my video, and now I want to import the clips into my computer and I can’t! I installed the software they gave me in the library and read the manual, but when I connect the camera to the computer there’s no way I can see the videos or import them, not even to the program I just installed.
Suggestions? I’m getting very nervous.
Odd day
On Thursday I went to Central Park to take some pictures as part of my digital essay. Fortunately for me, central park was so spacious and diverse. This allowed for good pictures to be taken. I felt like a professional p
hotographer, just like Spiderman. On a side note, if you bring a camera to take pictures of central park, people will think you are a tourist. A man who handed out maps of central park thought I was from Canada. On another note, there was a homeless person I encountered who goes by the name “The Homeless Poet”. He explained that he made a living from selling poems. I did not bother listening to him beyond this point because I am not interested in the prospect of buying poems because in this digital age, almost everything that exists can be found on the internet. Afterwards I explored the Upper west Side a bit. I was not absolutely familiar with the neighborhood, so I walked in just one direction from 59st to 69st. Although the day was tiring, I got a good feeling from accomplishing so much in one day.
