Video Emergency Question
Hello everyone!
Has anyone used a Hitachi Camcorder before? I borrowed one from the library and spent the weekend filming my video, and now I want to import the clips into my computer and I can’t! I installed the software they gave me in the library and read the manual, but when I connect the camera to the computer there’s no way I can see the videos or import them, not even to the program I just installed.
Suggestions? I’m getting very nervous.

With this poem I learned that you can create great things just by being bold. Gertrude Stein’s work is funny, creative, challenging and meaningful; and she just had an amazing idea that was developed with great ability. I think it’s very funny to learn so much about a text without being able to fully understand its meaning. I guess its because history teaches!

I judge Napoleon who came first as a King.
Would he like it if I told him, he presently teaches it for kings?
Now actively coming, exactly as they do, to Napoleon because he is a King.
Paper Proposal
I decided to deviate from the sexual theme. It is a very interesting idea but it is something that I will have to pursue some other time. For this paper, I decided to try something a little more feasible and unique ( in my sense). The poem/song that I will be using is Morgan Heritage’s “Don’t Haffi Dread”. In this song, the reggae band Morgan Heritage talks about why you a person doesn’t need to have dreadlocks to be a Rastafarian. There is a little history behind the culture of Rastafarianism that I will expose my audience to of course. Ultimately, I want to use the song as a way to explain that it is not what a person wears or does that defines him, but as the song says “the divine conception of the heart”. As for the video, I will relate this theme to New York City. Showing how people differ by interview them. However, this idea still needs further development.
Essay #3 proposal
Trying to find a poem that I thought fit my theme of self-acceptance was hard. It was probably because my theme was broad, then I narrowed it down to try to find a poem that shows the emotion of people who could not accept themselves. I came across ” Hanging Fire” By Audre Lorde, at first I skimmed through it and felt that it was “okay”. After an hour later of search for poems, I went back to read the poem and the more I read it the more I felt that it fit what I was looking for. Even though I found my poem, reading it gave me ideas on how to do my close reading for my paper rather than giving me ideas for my video. I’m still having a tough time thinking of an idea for the video, maybe combining two minds would help.
Paper 3 Proposal
Hello to whomever is reading this right now. I am working with Sol on this project, but he and I will work on different poems. Sol will work on “The Lady of Shalott” by Lord Tennyson, and I will work on one of Fernando Pessoa’s poems under the heteronym Albert Caeiro (Poem 5 June 1922). Although our poems are very different in both time period and style, we share a common theme that touches on our subjective perception of the world and how it is shaped by the lenses (media, or any other outlet we use to gain knowledge) we use to view said world.
For our digital project, we will try to make a compilation of images in different lightings and with different focuses to try and show different perspectives of a same concept.
Getting straight down to business. I do not know what poem i am going to do. However, i do have a brief idea of what i am going to do. I want to do something on self discovery and self acceptance. It is actually a big topic by many music artists and i think it is a problem for some people.
I know i am late but i enjoyed Luke’s presentation. I am going to try my best to make it to the workshop. it would be a great help especially when i never made a video before. in fact, i do not think i ever even touched a movie making software before. I am hoping i can use my friend’s camera to video tape and maybe we can learn a little something.
